Train the pup not to lick the windows, then! Seriously, though, if you want to find something wrong with either ride, you will. Just get what you want and be done with it...very few of our truck-buying decisions are based in logic, I bet! In my case, that's definitely true; do I really need a Rebel for my suburban commute? No, but it's a heck of a truck!

TXCOMT
Lol Yeaaahhh she's a special one... and that's my flaw. I use as much logic as I can in everything. I feel too much guilt for making splurge purchases. And now I feel loyalty to both Rebel and Raptor. My dad bought a nice Rebel too right after I bought mine and I enjoy having similar trucks. However I love the Ford SVT vehicles. My GT500 was an amazing car. So I'm kind of just split down the middle and the biggest thing that will make up my mind at this point is the deal I'm offered on the Raptor. If its what I'm hoping for, I'll go for it. If they only come down a couple grand off the Raptor, I will keep my Rebel and hopefully not have anymore issues.. Either way I got a bad ass truck.

Sorry pride, I forgot you already own a Reb...duh!

I also get the SVT love; I've always had an appreciation for special Mustangs and even owned a '93 SSP Mustang (ex-Denton County [Texas] SO) for awhile! It was nothing compared to your GT500, but it was pretty cool and the last year Ford built police 'Stangs. I agree that a Raptor would be cool, but my Reb would really have to disappoint me and a good deal would need to present itself before I'd switch my ride.

Good luck with whatever you do! Like you said, you'll be set either way.

Nice! I woudlnt mind owning a fox body but I would have to change a lot on it to make it pleasing for me personally. Sounds a like a bad ass ride though.

Thanks man, driving the Raptor today and tomorrow. Only had a 10 min ride so far but I gotta say, this things interior feels like I went from a nice Mercedes(Rebel) to a Toyota corolla (raptor). Everything looks and feels super cheap. The steering wheel is just god awful hard plastic and hard to look at versus the Rebels soft "leather" and pleasing interior. This has definitely killed the raptor a little for me

I found the Fords and Chevys to have more of a plastic feel than Ram, even worse on moderate trims. That's why I bought my 2017 Ram

Agreed. Another big reason I went RAM. My dad had a 2016 Sierra, the highest trim besides denali, and that was pretty nice but what bothered me with it was the fact that you pay more for the GMC name and "luxury" but it doesn't look any different at all from its chevy counter part. They just interior change colors, material and that's it. And I just don't like the brand new fords exterior at all. Doesn't appeal to me personally other than the raptors that I cant afford.

I went to the local dealer to buy a new Raptor, made an appointment and everything. My wife and I watched countless videos, she agreed on the $$, all I had to do was pick one out. We went and looked at them and just didn't like it at all. Didn't like the interior or exterior...we didn't even discuss price, we just said thanks and left.

Was that a gen 1 or a gen 2? The gen 2's have a much nicer interior but the v6 kills it for me and the exterior on the gen 1 is better lookin IMO

I can't stand ford with a passion, and unless you live in the desert, the raptor won't have the capabilities the rebel does. Consider its possible the previous raptor owner might have had issues like you are, and that's the reason they traded it in. Probably for a power wagon lol. Also to consider, I'm not as familiar with rebels but I do know you can't find used power wagons ANYWHERE. Because once you have one you keep it. I know two guys with rebels and they loved them. One came out of a tundra with lots of issues so he was immediately happy. It sounds like you have a lemon and should demand the dealer to give you a different rebel.

Did they fix your windshield whistling issue? I have the same thing happening. Driving me crazy, cannot track it down. Sounds like it's coming from the right front pillar. Doesn't happen 100% of the time, can't find anything that will make it happen all the time either otherwise I would just have the dealer look at it.

Mine was also right front. They resealed it. I couldn't tell if it still was whistling when I picked up the truck yesterday cause it was raining super heavy. If its under warranty just bring it to them and inform them and it should get taken care of

UPDATE,

Picked up my Rebel yesterday.

Here's a real kicker, they replaced the little control cluster on the right side of the steering wheel hoping to fix my cruise control issue. However they used the wrong part so now my gear+ and gear- buttons are just blank fillers. So if my cruise control gears down again on the highway I'm gonna be SOL unless I pull over, turn off the truck to reset it, and hope it goes back to auto mode. Unless theres another way I'm not aware of. Good stuff...

Also with the potential blend door issue, they are gonna have to pull the whole dash and HVAC housing assembly to figure it out. I really don't like the idea of my truck being torn into so heavily when its this new so that irks me.

They said I'm basically SOL with the Bluetooth skipping cause theirs did it too and it will require an update that isn't out and they aren't exactly fast at releasing them so that's annoying.

They resealed the windshield and hopefully that fixes the whistling. Couldn't tell when driving cause it was raining super hard yesterday.

I think there was something else but I cant remember cause I don't have my list in front of me... Looks like I'm gonna be in a crappy little rental dodge dart for a while once I turn it back in for those repairs...

So sorry, pride, to see it's still not fixed...seriously! I really hope everything, and I do mean everything, gets sorted. Like you, I own a Reb but I haven't had a lick of trouble until the U61 recall flash; at first, cruise wouldn't engage (a week later and it works as it should), but now my backup cam view is distorted at night...works fine during the day and had no issues before it went in!

Time to see a different dealership for the shot that the first one didn't fix because they have no knowledge of fixing the problem. I took my truck in for the cruise control and they fixed it in the service write up lanes while I was giving them the to do list for the first service... At the same time they were looking g at my crappy carpet which is gonna get replaced.

Thank you gentleman on all the help and support

I do have a small update, the windshield isn't fixed. They said they resealed it to see if that would work but I took it out for a drive today and it was whistling still.

Hey, pride, have you removed your AM/FM antenna to eliminate that as a possible source of the whistle? I know it's a long shot, but I thought about it when I swapped my stocker for a shorter aerial (a 17-inch Raptor from O'Reilly). Since it's shorter, it makes a different sound at speed than that bigger antenna Ram put on 'em.

Well I had my gf ride with me and she stuffed a shirt in the corner and the whistle went away so I'm fairly positive it's a sealing issue with the windshield

With regards to your Bluetooth skipping:

My 2014 Sport has the same issue. I assume eventually they will fix it with an update. I believe it has to do with the way the Bluetooth connects to multiple devices. It happens to me when I'm trying to use my Ipod, but also have my phone in the truck connected. I have never experienced it just using my phone.

The issue is avoidable by turning off Bluetooth in my phone while using the Ipod. It's a pain in the ass, and probably not doable for someone who absolutely needs to pay attention to their phone, but you can work around it on long drives. Depending on what devices your using, and what inputs your truck has, you could probably use the aux cable as well, but I get that's not why your upset. Totally understand your frustration.

My Uconnect has had all kinds of weird, glitchy issues; sometimes it freezes, sometimes it doesn't come on at all, sometimes the volume won't work, etc.

Also, I'd love a Raptor, but only 2017 or newer. The way I understand it, the first gen had some frame issues? I could be entirely wrong, as I have never really dived into the weeds researching that vehicle, but definitely think the new ones look better. MHO.
