This made me jump outta the driver seat!

I have a zf8hp70 not the 45, the alfa connected using the zf8hp45 protocol (does not have a 70 - also my truck is a 17 but when connected it says i connect to MY16 body module), but when trying to pull info i got that.

Is that a common warning, or do you guys think i coulda bricked the tranny control module?

I unplugged and started my truck and decided to come inside now lol
I have a '17 also it says MY2016 on mine too. Not sure about the warning, haven't seen that before.

Is there a way to set the CANbus communication protocol to:
ISO 15765-4 CAN( 11 bit 500k baud)
This is for the EcoD, not sure if the gassers are the same ISO protocol.
I know with the Torque app if you don't specify the comm protocol it can give you issues.

Ill try those suggestions, the warning happens in the gearbox/transmission module, I have connected and changed drl successfully with the body control module.

Happened to me too i just assumed it was because it wasnt listed as 8hp70. I posted in this thread asking if anyone was able to connect to the TCM with an 8hp70 but didn't see a direct response.

Some trans values I thought were listed in the engine computer but I don't think it's all of them

There’s two special packages in the BCM but they’re both the same.

Edit: They don't all work for whatever reason and I had to select the same out of both packages for some to work. Only change I seen was on the evic boot image.

Wow, that's a lot of options. Have you successfully changed the splash screen to "Limited" by chance, I am starting to think that this tool is a must in the future as I am growing tired of the A E Tool.

thanks...

Does it require the OBDlink MX, or will any Bluetooth obd work? I have a Kobra obd Bluetooth. The app will connect to it, but I can't get it to connect to the BCM. IDK if I'm doing something wrong.

Here’s a full list. The OBDLink is recommended as that’s what we’ve tested with. Check post one for more details.

Best that I can tell mine is an ELM327, but it must be one that is not compatible. Ordering a different one right now.

If you’re ordering another then I’d definitely go with the OBDLink MX Bluetooth. It’s been flawless for me. Also if you order from their site directly and sign up for their mailing you can save 10%.

Thanks to the help provided by GhostRam, I now have ventilated seats in my tradesman trim level truck! Oh, and DeereGuy’s custom wiring harness too[emoji2]

I took a couple tries fooling around. Had to exercise extreme discipline to not try and change other things I cane across before I finally figured out what was needed to change for my seats.

I initially selected the MY2015 BCM as an option to connect to. But that would not allow me to change the vented seat option in the one place it wasn’t set but needed to be. It was already changed elsewhere (Ecu 3 as indicated by the log). It would give me an error code . 6b34e94f48488c608aa1259679a9c9de.jpg

I then switched to the 2013-2017 BCM and connected that way. I then found an option to change the seat material from cloth to perforated leather...and it let me change it!

I disconnected, removed key, and fiddled with other stuff around the house. Came back and verified seat material change took and then found the second listing for vented vented seats as the first already indicated their presence. It let me change them the present! Disconnected similarly and later came back. Started up the truck and I now have ventilated seats! So nice in this 90 degree heat that is abnormal for San Diego area! 9015636f8e3a49fb4b5857f4d13e83db.jpg

That's awesome and congrats!!! Trust me if it weren't for Ricks Ram, STecoD, Mpgrimm2 and DeereGuy I would not have been able to bring this thread forward in the first place. Definitely a group thing and I am blessed to have been a part of it.

Hopefully I'll be able to join that exclusive club you've just become a part of soon myself!

Please forgive me. I am an Apple product person.
What are you guys using for tablets/laptops to work with the AlphaOBD?
I have a few options I would be interested in changing depending on the cost of the proper tablet.

I just got my newly installed limited seats to function on both front cooled tonight! As well as the rear heated. I messed with the tpms adjustments and got it to read on the “set to” but the idiot light is still on. I will mess with it more tomorrow. I can’t thank y’all enough for the info so far! Can’t wait to update further.

@sam-aye-am I can’t get mine to come up on the climate touch screen yet? What did you do?

FYI: I’m doing changes on my 2014 ram 2500 Cummins SLT sport appearance package from factory. I’ve done 8.4 2018 uconnect swap and hvac 7 speed mod, cluster upgrade, limited heat/cooled seats with limited center console wiring harness.

I didn’t do anything specific to alphaOBD to get the soft keys. More likely due to the OBDGENIE module I bought that turned on the soft key, but didn’t actually enable them.

I’m pretty confident you’ll be able to find a setting with alphaOBD. I just can’t point you to which one.
