Any diesel engine is pretty much useless without a turbo nowadays. When you get rid of the throttle butterfly valve, you have a lot less problems with using turbos...lolits the damn turbo on these engines that i dont trust.
I mean n/a motor are preetty stout, But when you add a turbo seem to have problem.
How is the reability on Ram with the 3.0 V6 Turbo Ecodiesel 2014 too 2016?
Are they reliable?
Wrong. Nobody has been paying the 4k premium for the diesel addon since the 1st year.Alexander, just my opinion. The 3.0 diesel doesn't make sense any more. The entry price for the diesel is too high. And the fuel is no expensive also. The engine, in order to comply with the epa has become very complicated as did the exhaust. Unless you are towing and need the torque, you might be better off with the Pentastar. My final thought is, there is a reason you can't get a lifetime warranty on diesels.
You should google this question, lots of them blowing up.
You could also do the same with Hemi, and Pentastar, and Cummins and... and...
I’m just saying that if you go looking for horror stories, you’re going to find horror stories.

Nope, FCA released a statement (or was found through email transcripts) right when the lawsuit started, they had motor failures of 2-300 a week, which equals out to 2-3%Based on the numbers on the road, I don't think they're any less reliable than any other light truck turbo diesel.
In regards to the fuel cost, where I'm from, diesel fuel is about $0.25/gal more than 87oct gasoline and has been for years.
Wrong. Nobody has been paying the 4k premium for the diesel addon since the 1st year.
Diesel is about the same sometimes more sometimes less then gas here in norcal.
The 3.0l diesel if it was such a failure why did gm twins and ford put out a 3.0l diesel??????
A lot of people who dont own diesels are jealous. I pump up every 2.5 weeks vs weekly and get 6-700 miles per tank.
You can scream extra oil and fuel filters for maintenance but I make that all back from not stopping for gas weekly.
Do some market research, the ecod has been a troublesome venture for FCA but it has been a success nonetheless where FCA 2x main rivals took 4 years to put out the same truck
