Ok my alternator just started to make a bearing noise. So was told there r two different ones for my 99. Either the 117 or 136. My tag on mine was gone so don’t have a part number. So honestly does it really matter tho

no vin#? with that you can find the build sheet and see what alternator was installed.

as long as they have the same plugs should be able to use either or, if you have many electronics (sound system/light bar) id go for the higher amp one either way, but if it had the oe lower amp one and you want to keep exact original get the lower one.

Well I do have any system or light bar at the moment but maybe in the future. I thought about going with the higher one anyways just in case I get something later

I would personally go for the higher one, these engines aren't starved for power so a little more draw from the engine won't be a bad thing, and if those items are possibilities in the future and they do draw to much from the small one you would be getting a higher rated alternator anyway at that point.
