So I'm working with a new truck, 2015 White Reg Cab Express 2WD w/3.92 rear gears vs the old 2014 Charcoal Grey Reg Cab Express 2wd w/3.21 rear gears.

This time around I want to change up the lowering plan vs my old Belltech 2/4 drop w/Bilstein 5125 shocks and Spohn adjustable bars.

I will say this, when the Spohn joints were tight they performed well, they just didn't stay tight for very long. When loose I could feel the alignment slightly off and the noise was unacceptable.

First thing I did on the 2015 was change some cosmetic things, added spray in bed liner and a MOPAR tonneau cover. The paint on the MOPAR tonneau was noticeably different than the factory paint (less gloss), had it repainted, matches much better now.

I have a few other parts on order: 22" Hellcat repro wheels (satin black), gloss black painted non towing side mirrors (to blend with dark window tint) and some white color matched door handles. Going to install a Kicker Solo Baric L7 10" sub with some old school Pioneer TSD 6.5" components using JBL amps.

And Lastly, started collecting parts for the new drop plan. Been doing alot of reading and it appears there are many more options than we had just a few years back.

Only things I'm re-using from the old drop project are the Hellwig front and rear sway bars (the rear being a 2500 bar much larger than the standard 1500 bar), they performed flawlessly, and the dude that did my alignment.

After much contemplation, the goal is to be in the 3/5 to 3.5/5.5 range.

For the rear I'll be using the Illicit no cut brackets with a 4" drop spring trimmed to desired height; most likely will end up removing the metal bumpstop cups.

For the front I'll be using a combination of McGaughys 2" drop spindles and a 1" drop spring ran as is and/or trimmed for desired look, again, most likely will end up removing the metal bump-stop cups.

For supporting bits I'll be running an adjustable panhard bar and maybe a set of adjustable upper rear control arms, if needed, for fine tuning pinion angle.

Currently undecided on shocks but I was extremely happy with the Bilstein 5125's so I may go that route again. I'll need some feedback on shock lengths used for a 3/5 4/6 drop vs the 2/4 variety.

Thanks, look forward to some cool modding!

I’m not here to change your mind but have you just considered going with the Inez 4/6 kit? Seems like it would be less of a headache when trying to piece together your suspension.

Yeah for sure, I may end up there but I think this will work just well with the only difference being the front end choice drop. There rear will essentially be the same as we are just dealing with cut lowering springs either way.

Nice! What did you use to achieve the drop and what size tires? thanks

Front: McGaugheys 2" spindles + 1" Crown Suspension lowering spring.
Rear: 4 inch drop spring, core control arms, relocation brackets, Core panhard bar, adjustable shocks. I think that's it. :Big Laugh:

I really love your truck booms.
McGaugheys 2" spindles and a their flip kit here, sport shocks all the way around too.
Keep in mind, the spindles poke your front wheels out about 1.5" or so, but that can be remedied with spacers on the rear to even them out again,
at least on the 3rd gens it does.IMG_20150905_094037_088.jpg

That's the plan or I might even machine the spindle and/or wheel to accommodate the difference in width. It all depends on the look; it has to look right but equally must function right as well.

The fronts were so close to sticking out past the fender, but I knew I was doing flares so...

Gotta find a side shot.

my vote is the Inez kit :)

also that white sport with the flares looks great. totally wish Ram would have finished the front flares instead of the one style for all. can't even stand them on my longhorn for that reason.

Thanks. It's an Express.
Got the full aftermarket front flares on order, so I can get full coverage. :Big Laugh:

Why not get air ride then you can be as low as you want. And adjust from inside the car,?

well after installing the OE wheels last week and 305/45 tires and much discussion it looks like the plan will be to go with the Inez 4/6 after all.

Hey man, ur truck looks awesome with those Hellcat wheels. What backspacing do they have and where did u buy them? Im assuming there are no fitment/rubbing issues? I’m looking at getting them for my truck.
