Well, I wanted a cap so I could load all the stuff for camping and keep it dry and secure, including bikes, generator, cooler, BBQ, ...

We got the Leer top-of-the-line 100XQ that was $2600 plus accessories:
- Removable front slider $130
- Thule Rack System $400 (The cross bars are removable leaving four small posts)
- Keyless Entry $170 (Locks and unlocks with the truck)
- Power Block $100 (Three 12V outlets)

So, $3,400 paint matched and installed. I love it!

I'm picking up a used leer 100R (base model) on the weekend. Its not the right color and has a couple bruises on it but for $500 I can live with it. Only plan on using it in winter for my pouches. They're to big and make to much of a mess riding in the back seat.

Picked it this morning and mounted when I got home. Doesn't look the best I know, but right now its more about functionality then the look. Plan is just to use it during wet/snowy months and swap it out for my tonneau for the hot months. Probably not even going to bother with painting (may look a vinyl wrap). Main thing is it keeps my boys dry, secure and my interior clean, so its worth the cost to me. 5dc9b571e5bbb0f2d001511ae464a872.jpg

What brand of topper is that?

I was originally going to go that route but only found 1 manufacturer and wasn't feasible with exchange/shipping/taxes/duties. Looks good though. Wish it would've worked out for me.

I have a 2016 Laramie Ecodiesel, crew cab with the really short bed. I've been toying with the idea of a camper shell. The problem is that none of the sites give a price and ask me to contact them. Has anyone bought one? What did it cost?

I just did some checking this week with the LEER dealer and the shells for the 6'4 bed was either $1900 (straight rear glass) or $2300 (curved rear glass). $75 to install (third brake light and dome) They can even wire the rear glass lock to the tailgate lock.

I ordered a Leer 100R. I sure like the looks of your back glass. I hope the adapter on mine looks as good as yours. It should be in soon. what kind of running boards do you have on this Ram

thanks

I added a SnugTop Rebel to my 2018 LL. Water tight during the worst of rainstorms and car washes, well constructed and gets the job done. Cost was $2200 which I felt was steep but it is the best I’ve ever owned - and I’ve owned several including Leer, ATC, Raider, and others. They all are good in one way or another but I feel the SnugTop is the best constructed - of the ones I’ve owned. Added a Bedrug and use Volkswagen hold down units (they are called cargo blocks) that have Velcro on the bottom to hold loads in place. They stick perfectly to the Bedrug but are easily movable to the dimensions of the load you are carrying in the back.

A.R.E. Topper,. Priced the out at local shop and would have been about $200 - $2500 depending on window and such.
Got this one used, already painted perfectly to match, for about $400 or so.

Could care less what anyone thinks about Old Man this or that.

I had a topper on my 1977 Ford, forever>
Didn't have one on my 1999 2500 and missed it.
Park, at work, for a couple days. Get a foot of snow in the box, then watch it make a huge mess of my garage on my Home layovers.

Truck does a lot of Boy Scout/Venture stuff and keeps all the gear nice and dry. Head to North Dakota or anywhere, no worries.
Locks up, stuff stays High and Dry.

Even had Wife and kids sleep in there, when it stormed and everything/Everybody got soaked, They stayed Dry.

Just seal your tailgate and enjoy your newly created Dry Storage.

BTW< It is not an "Old Man Look".
It;s a "Damn Smart Man with enough Confidfence to not give a crap what anyone Thinks" Look.

Bought it used, had it painted, all in $1400. Pretty happy with it.

I contacted the semi local snugtop dealer. They want $2,500 installed, but failed to provide the financing information I requested. I sent the same request to the closest Leer dealer, and haven't received a reply. I don't want to spend $2,500 on something I really want more than I need. We'll see what Leer says, but I bet it won't me much different

On a side note. Anyone have any good fixes for the gap between rear door and tailgate? Its about .75". Yes i realize I'm suppose replace the tailgate cap but I only plan using the cap during winter months and switching to my tonneau for the summer. Tonneau won't work with topper cap.

Only thing I've come up with is some garage door weather strip mounted on inside of door. Haven't tried it yet so looking for some other ideas.
