2018 power wagon only a month old, I had this installed for a week and it now just popped a service engine light as well came up on my monitor warning service throttle position sensor, truck wanted to drive forward at an idle because it was giving throttle to the engine, I pulled the unit off and all worked again and after a couple of hours the service engine light went off after I restarted it, not sure why this happened? When it was plugged in it worked awesome I really liked it I followed the directions and had both keys over 50 feet away for 10 mins before installing

What did you have the pedal commander set on?

At its lowest setting it actually has less power going to the pedal than the regular set up has and can throw a code (from what I've read).

I'm not at home but I checked online. Was it in the ECO mode? Thats the mode that can be problematic.

Could be a bad connector plug (disconnected and reconnected causing the fault just as if you'd installed it with the power on or a key nearby). Might need to exchange it for a new one.

I run mine in the lowest setting during the winter and have never had a problem.

Perhaps there is a "Pedal Commander" review thread here somewhere. I don't want to hijack a thread, but was wondering what this device is actually doing? Does it just make the computer more sensitive to throttle inputs, or does it actually somehow increase performance. It almost sounds as though it just enables an 'increase in sensitivity' to suite an individual driver's preference. Is that the case?

No performance gain. All it does is alter the voltage sent for a given throttle position. For example it's telling the system you have 50% throttle when you have only pressed it 25%. Makes it feel more responsive but it's no different then pushing the peddle a little further.

It's significantly better than simply pushing the peddle a little further. Once you find your preferred setting, you benefit from far more control over downshifts & overall drivability.

Care to elaborate on how it gives you more control on downshifts? I'd really like to hear this one.

Speaking from my experience w/ the 8spd, the shift points improved w/ the PC in play. Downshifts are predictable & I get a far better sense of control over how the truck runs. It's a night & day difference in drivability. The Pedal Commander really shines when paired w/ a Pulsar on level 8.

I found by adding hand controls to my PW, that the pedal response on the adjustable hand direct link that was added, acts similarly to the pedal commander.

The acceleration seems to go directly into the same part of the PCM, and theirby, increase response times in the lower RPMs.

I also feel, in my 8spd, the down shift points better.

For acceleration the truck will lunge forward as soon as I pull back on the accelerator, sometimes resulting in a surprising tire spin, watch our for the back end kicking out to the right, or , the dry pavement chirp.

When slowing down, being able to recgonize when the down shift is about to occur by the tone of the rpm drone.

Overall it makes the driving experience more fun and exciting while getting better control thru the PCM.

What is actually happening on my installed accelerator , as in the pedal commander, Is the devise Is more capable of sending larger or smaller voltage at different points of the accelerator position. This makes the driver feel the points of the accelerator differently than the factory settings for voltage throught the acceleration range.

Did you make any changes or adjust settings while moving?

What setting was yours on?

Is it the Bluetooth version?

if yours is the bluetooth version delete the app and re-download. That will give you the latest version. That should fix it. If not contact Pedal Commander directly and they can update your unit thru the bluetooth app.

Same here! Non bluetooth, mess with settings occasionally while cruising or stopped but never while accelerating. Also NEVER have used eco setting, seems counterproductive to me!
Absolutely love this gizmo set at sport minus 3 paired with the Pulsar on level 8

When I took my truck to the dealer for the recalls, I set it to city 2, then removed from Velcro and pushed it down behind that trim under the steering wheel and just left it sitting behind there but never unplugged it. I picked up my truck, pushed it back thru the opening and back into the mount..nobody knew it was even there.
