Curious to know if anyone here have installed D2S 5.0 projectors yet in their truck? I'm thinking of finally upgrading to a good projector and HID's but want to see some reviews first in the 4th gen rams

I have a set of d2s 5.0 on the way, should be here this week. There are a couple builds on hidplanet if you look in the forums over there. I'll post up some pics once installed.

So which one are you going with? Either would be a major upgrade from the stock projector. Lools like the trade off on any of the projectors is depth or width of light.

These are 5.0 I just finished up. I need to get one side readjusted since apparently it changed from where I had them set at.

G5r has a more intensive hotspot but tends to lose that in width.. more intense hotspot generally means better distance.

5.0 has a better balance of width not as much of a hotspot compared to the g5r

Both are great projector just depends on what you rather have.

I think you have the projectors confused. G5R is wider, D2S is more center fo used. A lot more usable light with the G5. I dont even think it was a fair comparison, it was night and day better with the G5

For those who have done it before....would these fit into a quad housing as my first ever retrofit project?

Or should I look for something smaller (easier)?

Or, should I just find a set of stock projectors?

They’ll fit but requires some trimming to both the bulb hole (obviously) and then trimming the shroud to fit.

M1 7.0 will fit easily especially if you use a smaller shroud the the mini Gatling gun

Depends on what look your going for.. quad headlight (replicas) can be purchased for a little over hundred. Projector style headlights typically will cost you around $400-500 or so (tyc), then add the cost of projectors, then ballast/bulbs oh and you’ll need a set of projector adapter plates to get them mounted up and they more difficult to open and reseal and you’ll need a harness to convert to projector style headlights... it can get expensive
