Valvoline 0w40?

Anyone Ever seen Valvoline 0w40 offered? I have never even hurd or seen it until I stumbled on it at Grainger. All of us with the 6.4 know oil options are limited, if available, this could be another option. Its not shown on the Valvoline wed site so I have no idea if it has MS-12633 certification. If you go to Grainger's web site its offered but on back order.

The Grainger site also has a 55 gallon drum of PUP 0W40 if your interested... LOL

I emailed valvoline a few weeks ago they said for my 6.4hemi 5-40 mst synthetic was there recommendation.

5-40 synthetic mst is what valvoline recommended said it met anti shear spec for 6.4 hemi. I think it is as close as they have in a 40 grade

I think that's interesting, Valvoline 0w40 does not meet Chrysler spec of MS-12633. Not sure how a dealership can justify using unapproved oil.

Either way your the first guy on the forum to run the Valvoline and I'd like to get your thoughts over the next few months. Would really like to see a Used Oil Analysis from Blackstone Laboratories. That will tell us how the oil performed and what the additive package contains.

IMO if you live in the "dirty south", there's zero reason to run a 0W oil...it'll never be cold enough to justify it over a 5w40 or even 10w40.

Interesting. Does the redline meet the Chrysler spec for our 6.4L.

I appreciate the info though as valvoline is my preferred oil in general. I like their max life full synthetic oil.
