I have ICI Magnum stainless bars on my 2011 ram 1500 and I only had them for about 3 months and this started happening..now I’ve done research and i seen if you mix baking soda with water you can clean it up with a toothbrush..is there anything else I can do to last me long term or should I contact ICI and argue to get new ones

Eh not much your going to do. I have the same steps I just sand them down and re paint. I thought about having them powder coated. I never had a issue till I drove to a state that uses salt on the roads. I don't think anything will work if they salt the roads.

I read online that you can use baking soda with water and scrub it with a toothbrush..but I would probably have to do that every winter if there is no other option

They arent too bad look into Por 15 paint and top it off should keep they from rusting more or just do what I did and put bed liner on them.

Well seeing that it rust that means its down to bare metal. Baking soda might neutralize the rust but you gotta cover the bare metal back up.

If it were me I would have them returned and find a better option. Three months is too fast imo

Personally, if I had a brand new product and it was rusted like that, contact company for an RMA and replacement. But sanding, clean and body liner like LineX or good paint with rust inhibitors would be another option.

Just FWIW, Dinky, hee hee, U would be surprised how much chit rusts here, just a saying........well include pic of old shed doors I just replaced, notice that lil funky color on bottom of doors.. hee hee

If it rusted that quickly right out of the box these things are going to need constant tending to, to keep rust free for rust belt use. It's pretty much the exact reason I haven't and probably wont install any type of steps on my 2017 :( The other issue is rust forming where they attach to the body of the truck. Flexing occurs there, paint flakes.. You get the picture.

Oh I know **** rust there lol. Just saying move up to like oregon 160day average of rain. It's not a lot but **** never drys out lol. Then you go up to where they salt the road in the winter and 1 winter your truck steps are rusted through lol.
