My truck, Ram 1500 2wd 4.7 2007, won't start. I installed a new fuel pump about 2 years ago. Just put a new TIPM in a couple months ago. It cranks but doesn't start, when using the carb cleaner it'll start but die right away. Thought it was the fuel filter but after searching for fuel filters online, none fit my truck. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a fuel pressure problem. Is there any pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail if you push it in?

Sounds like you don’t have enough fuel pressure. Do you hear the fuel pump start when you turn the key to the “run” position? Not the start/crank position. You should be able to hear it “spool” up. If not it’s the fuel pump or tipm again would be my guess. Or a wiring issue in between.

I would get a test light and find which wire powers the fuel pump in the tipm connector and see if it powers up when the key is on.

I failed to mention that I don't hear the fuel pump turn on.

Then it’s between the tipm and fuel pump. Try putting key in run position and lay on the ground and with your hand “bang” on the center of the gas tank and see if you hear the pump make an attempt to run. It could be a short in the harness or bad connection at the pump.

You said you replaced the pump 2 years ago. Depending on the quality of the part that you put in there it's very possible that the pump has craped the bed again.

Sad part is it had a 1 year warranty.

So......it's the fuel pump [emoji58], any recommendations on a brand or any specifics I should consider?

You get what you pay for. I would go OE or Delphi. Look on rockauto and it will mention vin letter. There is a 5% off code in the sponsor section here just cut and put it in the “how did you hear about us “ box!
