2017 model, 17,000 miles, ugh, at least they should warranty it. Supposedly there is a recall for the 3.0 EDs, and they are going to be giving $3000 back and extending the warranty to 140,000 miles. Any body familiar with that?

Regardless, at 17,000 miles you're covered. Still sucks it broke though

Sadly, bottom end, or "rotating mass" failures are much too common in that motor.

Ok I was just interested whether it's had all the maintenance done. Sorry man, hope mine hangs in there.

I hear ya man. It really is a blast to drive. Seemed the newer ones were fairing better but maybe not. Out of curiosity did it give you any indicators prior to taking a crap or was it wam bam? Was that what prompted you to join the forum?

I joined looking for info on adding ac seats to my truck. It didn't not give me any warning signs. Dealer told me today it was piston and rod failure. New motor on order

That's a bummer man. Hope it gets fixed quick. I think they're getting good at replacing engines in these things.

Welcome. I know how you feel, spun bearings at 60k. 2 1/2 months to get it back. First engine arrived in 3 weeks, but was called back? So maybe yours will be faster. Be sure they change the oil cooler.

They did a great job on it. I have put 3500 miles on it since the new motor. No problems and it runs great. Praying this one stays together for a long time!!
