I have a 2010 1500 5.7L sport 4x4 and I just had my camshaft replaced along with a few other parts related to a limping cylinder.
Before the repair my truck would shift at around 1800rpms now 1st -2nd @ 2000rpms 2nd -3rd @2000rpms 3rd-4th @ 2500rpms and same for 4th-5th. Though while driving it stays around 1600rpms, unless going up hill or if I gas it. Also my oil pressure sits around 24 @ idle and 54ish while moving. So what is your guys normal shift patterns, and what do you thi k could be causing this.
Mind you I dont want to take it back to the shop for warranty work because they "fixed" it then gave it back to me still broken, so I took it back they worked in it for a day and gave it back. Again "broken" but in reality they didnt plug in the cable to the knock sensor on the driver side which I found while taking a look. Nor do I have any dealer or manufacturer warrantys.

I don't remember what the stock shift points were on my truck. These days 3500+ at PT. 1800-2000 @ PT could be quite normal with the stock TQ and shift schedule. I guess I'd have some concerns if at different throttle % it continued to shift at those rpms.

Personally, I'd be very concerned with your oil pressure @ 24psi idling. At the minimum, that seems about 12psi low. I'd personally freak if I seen mine below 42psi. Run psi seems good though.

Shift points are more dependent on how hard you push on the Go pedal and the associated torque demand, not a specific rpm.

this has been a dislike of mine of these 8 speeds. stock programming wants to achieve max mpg sonit shifts as soon as possible. i HATE this. always lugging. yoi have to really push the throttle to get it to shift.

i would agree.with the above, it depends how much you push the pedal. if you drive as easy as possible it will short shift all the time. im saving up to get my trans tune.

in the mean time , once the trans has warmed up i manually shift with the +/- buttons. makes it fun again. i can tach her up as much as i want and keep it at whatever rpm i choose. these motors love to work and love being pushed. and if you have an exhaust on your truck you will loooovvvee how it sounds even more. kinda like having a manual. i drive in tow haul too.

When you had the work done did they have the battery disconnected the whole time they had it? If so you may need to have a quick learn performed on the trans for it to shift properly

Ever since I've got the truck it's the oil pressure has always been low at idle but whe I press the gas it jumps back up. And all thos shifting rpms were taken while I was driving down main street in my small town, speed limit it is 25 I wasnt stepping on it or anything.

You also have to consider tire size, and gear ratios.

For a low speed, low acceleration street like above (same in my neighborhood). My truck shifts the same. Extremely low rpm.

I have the stock goodyear's which are 33" tall, and a 3.55 rear end. So someone with a 3.92 would see different shift points.

I'd worry more about your idle oil pressure first. A transmission is useless without an engine lol. What weight oil do you run?

I'd have a compression test done if my oil pressure was that low
