I have poured over various posts for oil filter relocation kits.

Do any of you have one installed that uses the stock filter (22mm x 1.5 thread pitch with a 2 1/2" flange)?

If so, a link or part # would put you on my thank you list! :party28:

Also, I like the mopar 45 degree one but Summit says its for 3rd generations...??

Thanks

I have a trans depo kit but I pretty much only used the adapters from the kit...... I ended up buying russel stainless hoses and fittings for the rest of it as I wanted to dress it up a bit vs just the plain black hoses

Ok I finally received my kit in the mail. Looks decent. Than again I ordered -10an fittings and hose to replace the barbed fittings and hose that cane with the kit. Now just another 6 months to a year before I do my next oil change and install this

Why do you have to wait till your next oil change to install the kit. About all you're gonna lose is the oil in the existing filter. I'd buy a new filter and an extra liter/quart of oil and throw it on.Not sure i'm a fan of the metric thread on the filter adapter,as usually the older style 3/4-16 threaded filters are easier to find and quite often cheaper.I guess if you have a case of the metric threaded filters on hand it'd be wise to buy the metric filter adapter, otherwise I think the 3/4-16 thread pitch filter adapter would be the better way to go

Preferably to keep the stock filter as I order it from summit before I even need the filter or oil and I just did my oil change about 2 months ago so I don’t feel like climbing under there again yet.

Just as easy to order a 3/4-16 filter, plus it gives you more options on bigger filters, just my 02. I prefer being able to buy filters anywhere easily, the 22 X1.5 filter can be hard to get if you're in an out of the way area, and need a filter now, plus the fact it's usually a little more money if you do have to buy one from your local parts outlet. You're call, but I think it's wiser to buy the adapter that'll accept the more common 3/4-16 filter

Do you have the part numbers, etc and vendor that you ordered for the -10an fittings/hose that you got?

I'm sure this is meant for the stock hoses but the Perma cool 70988 instructions state:

GENERAL INFORMATION: Check hoses every six months for tears, collapsed or pinched sections. The hose should be replaced every two years.

Did you ever get around to installing that kit yet?
I was thinking about mounting the filter horizontally to make it cleaner to do, the oil can drain out right into the pan without getting all over the filter. Has anyone mounted theirs that way?

That I have done. May slide it up higher and add some kind of bracing to this for protection from road debris

I used a small piece of tupperware to catch this excess oil, now I dont want a relocation kit anymore. Much cheaper and easier...

I have a silly question....what is the purpose of relocating the oil filter? Is this needed for some type of mods?

I did mine for less hassle and to aid in cooler oil as i installed mine in direct airflow. I noticed my oil stays about 6° (204°) cooler around town and about 3° (212°) cooler highway for extended periods of time.

Be carefull cooling your oil too mutch, you want it hot enough to get water from combustion blowby to evaporate out or you will get sludge.

So I think I'll mount the filter on the frame horizontally so it doesn't get all over the filter. It will be below the engine filter mount so it won't drain down when the engine is off. Anyone try that yet?

If you can find a top in filter mount then I don’t see why it would be bad. Less bends the better. I wanted a top in mount but couldn’t find one in the stock filter size.
