I full time in a RV and do a lot of towing across the country.

Here is what I've found.

Generally I get 8-9 mpg while towing at 60mph - I'm not in a rush.

Wind resistance is the key factor.

Midgrade gets about .3 - .5 better mpg then regular

Lucas fuel system cleaner $25/gallon adds another .3 mpg

This sounds about right from my experience with the same truck. Speed is the biggest factor I've found. Of course, hills and wind matter as well. Still, there are the endless posts of guys claiming to tow @ 75 and get 12mpg :)

I rarely tow but, using Lucas does get me another .4 mpg. Didn't see any gain using 89 over 87 though.

I can't get 12 mpg ever. But thats OK. I smile every time that 392 swallows another gulp!

Hey, which gears do you have? I get about 6-7 but I run 70 because the truck kind of settles there. I have 35s and 3.73 which might be the issue

50,000 miles towing 8800 lbs. and another 1500 in the bed. Long term mileage over all types of terrain and elevation is 9.3 mpg @ 65 mpg. (hand calculated) 2014 CC 6.4 long bed. Tried all grades of gas and none seem to make a difference.
That's pretty dang good.

FYI, sig line isn't visible when you do this on a phone. I see nothing that describes any aspect of your truck. I use my phone only for this forum. Am I missing stuff?

This would explain my question. Thanks for replying for me, I thought I was being called out for not knowing he had 4.10s

Nothing major.... just the pictures of ******* super models, vouchers for free beer and the free download-able passes to sporting events in your area. :) :)

No problem. I took it that way too.
I learned not to assume a long time ago. Some people do it regularly.
Nobody likes a snarky little MF.

Not sure about taptalk, but I revert to the “desktop view” and if I rotate my phone I can see the sig lines

Just throwing that out there, didn’t realize there was a difference until I just so happen to rotate my phone one day.....

Ya, speed kills! :D.... the mpg's anyway. My RegCab 4x4 6.4 2500 has 4:10's and it seems the sweet spot is 58mph.
