is there a console option in the 05 1500 quad cab that I could replace the jump seat with? Could I use one from another gen?

there was no center console in the 02-05 rams. there is nothing from another generation ram that will bolt right in and match up to the dash. That doesn't mean you can't get one and do some custom fabrication to make it look good though

Your options here are either retrofitting an 06-08 console (no shift) or adapting a 4th gen console (option of shift or no shift).

This is the 4th gen console and shifter swap that I did in my 03 (granted there's alot more going on there lol):

This is the 4th gen console without shifter:

Quite literally depends on your fab skills and whether you want to convert to floor shift or not; also wallet, funny as it is, the 06-08 consoles are generally more expensive than the 4th gens.

A quick search showed some 06-08 consoles on ebay. Around $700 before shipping. Yikes.

I like the openness of the jump seat and I'm not sure when they added them, but the 3 large cup holders on my 2015 are great. So is the hidden in dash tray for my pistol and more storage below jump seat.

Started in 09 with the 4th gen. I've heard of people retrofitting them to 3rd gens.

Also looking for info on 4th Gen console retrofit. Would be great if I could get some air vents for the back seat in there too.

If you have early 3rd gen then you'll have to cut your lower dash some. Later 3rd gen it fits up pretty well. Easier if you don't intend to convert to floor shift. The early 4th gens didn't have the rear vents, (the one I used didn't) but later ones do. You'll have to fabricate ducting from your existing ducts to run under the console to the vents.
