After thinking about it, I'm gonna take it to my mechanic this Saturday and have him to the lock Tite fix. He will be the one to do any brakes, alignment, suspension, etc work anyway.

Be sure to note it in your “my Ram app” under maintenance records. JMHO

I was not aware of said app. Are you referring to the Ram Box app by chance?

15 ft/lbs. !!!?!?!?!?!? WTF!!! No wonder why they come loose on them!

Put a set of wrenches on the damn nuts and put your ass into it and be done with this stupid ass recall! This is sooooo STUPID!

^^^^^This. I put wrenches on them and I can tell you the torque value applied was more like 100ft/lbs. No, I didn't stress the threads...Look up the values on that size and pitch and you'll see that 15ft/lbs is a joke compared to what they are rated.

I checked mine for the hell of it the other day. They were still so tight from 20k miles ago when I last adjusted it that I hurt my back trying to loosen them up. And I didnt use any thread locker.

So whats the issue with these again ? ! ? !

I just went out before work and crawled under my truck with 2 large pipe wrenches.

First off, the factory witness mark is still there and is straight across, indicating no movement.

For the heck of it I put the pipe wrenches on it to see if I could make it any tighter.

I bared down on it with all I have and couldn't budge it...at all.

So I may eventually take mine apart and put some locktite on it....but for now I'll just monitor it because quite honestly...even without locktite, mine is not going anywhere.

Id be willing to bet the vast majority of trucks are like mine and done right...probably a few were assembled on a Friday of a holiday weekend and short cuts were taken

Synergy kit (drag link and tie rod) being installed right now. Decided to throw on the Fox steering stabilizer too. Is that factory stabilizer worth anything? It’s only got 700 miles on the truck.

True. Car mfg have discovered recalls help to sell cars.

People in for a recall look at new cars and some buy a new one.

Thank you so much for this post. Going to order one of those kits today for my truck. Solve this whole BS drag link problem and never look back.

I had made my appointment (even though I didn't receive the recall letter, yet) for May 1st. Was told they would check it but the parts won't be in till June. I must have read this topic twice ,seeing how everyone is dealing with it (mostly negative as expected). So I figured I'd take a look at my drag link (bought this truck used at the end of January from a dealership,2017 low mileage 14K loaded) , all fluids change blah ,blah ,blah....crawled underneath and low and behold one nut was about a 1/2" away from the sleeve. No marking lines that I could tell were present. wrenched it tight as I could against the sleeve.. Even though I'll be away till my appointment (truck will sit) I just want to thank you guys for keeping this topic alive and suggest everyone take a look at their drag link.
