it is more than a electronic carburetor by 89. you are probably thinking map sensor.

No mass airflow sensors back then on hardly anything. You got a pre-Magnum 318 with a throttle body so its basically an electronic carburetor. You getting any codes on that?

no check engine light but I haven't check the codes yet... just getting what feels like a miss fire when I accelerate...

Usually not a bad map doing that.
Look at spark first.

Couldn't hurt to run some Techron fuel injection cleaner through it either.

If you haven't done a tune up yet.

Personally, I only ever used and prefer the factory Mopar cap and rotor - the clearances are always correct and the vent is correct. Some people like the brass inserts but they don't work well in the humid area where I live - I can't tell you how many cars I have fixed by just putting the factory cap and rotor back on back when I was a Chry. tech.
Spark plug wires - the best bang for the buck are the Summit 8 mm wires, high quality, durable, great price.
Plugs - I prefer the factory spec Champions, maybe NGK's, not an autolite fan.

I also liked running either a higher output coil or a msd 6A with a stock or aftermarket coil.
Cap and plugs seemed to last longer with the MSD/stock coil combo.

I just noticed, and not sure if this is related, but the speedometer doesn’t move until you hit 10mph then the needle jumps up and works fine.
