“Service Electronic Braking System”

2016 Power Wagon. 6.4. This was on my dash when it came back from the dealer. All they did was 3 recalls and change the oil. The dealer says to bring it in and he will see what code it is showing. Any know what it is? Pic is attached.

my warning light says to service electrical brake system. are my brakes going out?

More than likely the ABS module is going out. Check tour fuses and ensure the ABS fuse is good. Take battery cables off for 10 minutes to try to reset the error.....maybe a trip to the dealer....

Second thought is take it to an auto part store and see if they can run the code thru the obdii

I have the same issue - my new to me truck (from my father in law) has the light and the message popping up. I read on another forum that this has to do with one of the recalls. Makes sense this is happening since you had your recalls just done.

From what I understand, this is under the R23 recall and the tech failed to read the instructions when re-initializing the ABS module. This is also affecting Cruise Control.

I would bring this up to your dealer and see if this will help them figure it out for you. I have a call into my dealer and I am bringing it in either tomorrow or Saturday for them to look into this as well.

I just checked. I didn’t have the R23 recall but after reading the thread you posted it it has to be something with the recalls. I keep you posted.

Sounds good! I couldn't take it in this morning (work got in the way of that) but I am hoping I can drive down tomorrow and have them look into it. Would love an update if you find something out, of course I will do the same if I get the truck to them this weekend.

It could also be a bad flash. I had this issue with my last truck using the AEV ProCal. One of the. DPI switches wasn't fully engaged when I did the flash and it triggered the same message. They just went in and cleared the error codes. No harm no foul.

I had this same issue after a flash. Tech just didn't do something correctly. Took it back and they resolved it. Something about resetting the abs if I recall correctly. Regardless he just didn't do the update in the correct order the first time.

I’m hoping to take it in this week and get it taken care of. The dealership was pretty responsive about them running tests and pulling codes to make sure all was good. Hopefully from your posts this will be quick and easy!

Thats what happened on my 1500 - abs, traction control, trailer brake system and eps lost most power.

I'm sorry to say it wont stop w/ the service brake warning, it will grow like cancer in your truck. Next you will see the parking brake on, traction control wont work, trailer brakes, then the electronic start will start to go out. I have been having this issue on my truck as well (1028 Power Wagon 6.4). I has been in the dealer 3 ties for the same problem. The last time it was there for 17 days. They cannot fix the problem, they flew out star mechanics and still hasn't been fixed. It has been going on for 6 months. I am trying to have FCA buy the truck back, but they want to "fix: it again. the problem is they wont supply me w/ a rental car.

The dealer did not upgrade the computer, I had the same thing after they did cam and lifters 2016 laramie 6.4 all under warranty. They sasid it won't happen again silent recall

So, my 17 Ram was having the same issues. Service Brakes, cruise not working,etc. Dodge replaced all my wheel speed sensors, fixed the problem. Hope this helps.
