I think my audio sounds fine, so do we not have the audio issue everyone else does?

Doesn’t seem like it to me...sounds great to me and I have bass at max.

So if ours has issues my ears can’t tell!

I have uconnect 8.4c w/nav. In my 2018 1500. I went to the uconnect site. Input my vin. Had the update. Dl and unzipped it on a thumb. Installed it and I am on 21.9.0 w/nav. Took about a hour to install.

When I had software ver. 21.9 on my 2018 8.4" non-nav it sounded like crap. Now that I have 22.6 all is well.

what sounds good is subjective.if you are happy with the application you have i would just leave it alone.problem is i was happy with mine and was same as forced to update.and now that the uas people are taken care of (glad for them btw)it just shrinks the number of people complaining and thus it hurts getting a fix for us with uaq.in the past ra3 and ra4 would end up with the same firmware for their application like both would have 17:43:17 or whatever and was pretty much across the board for all vehicles.but so far i don't see the same thing happening with the uas and uaq.for example uas never got a 22.5 application version.

I upgraded to a UAQ nav radio out of a 2018 2500 and when I enter the donor vin in Uconnect it shows up to date so I'm confused.

My radio shows software version 19.9.0 , am I missing something? BTW how do maps get updated?

Oh for sure. Some are audiophiles; some are not. If my system was really bad I would know. Not sure why/if because I have NAV I’ve been fine.

Don't update that UAQ!
Application version v19.9 is very solid and impossible to get.

They doesn't appear to be any map updates available for the UAQ radios yet (per FCA's /HERE's map update site)

yeah for sure leave it alone.unless verified by the owner/seller if you get a used one you can't tell if it has been updated ota or not and since the 21.9 was forced almost all have it.

Thank you, I knew you had told me that when you helped me with the Uaq conversion last year. I just wanted to make sure I was still good to go with the v19.9 as I have no audio issues now. The FCA maps are just stale with the new I-11 bypass into Vegas so Waze is as you suggested the way to go.

Had the dealership do my 2018 2500 non-nav. Thankfully the audio is back to what it was pre OTA update or at least close enough I cannot tell a difference. One thing I have confirmed personally but haven't seen much written about it. I've got a friend with a 2017 and the Harmon Kardon (believe that's what the 2017s and previous had). Compared to my Panasonic there is a definite higher quality sound from the Harmon no matter which update I've had. Not sure if those have more wattage, better internal amp, or if they changed something with the speakers. That's frustrating to me, maybe FCA switched to save a penny. If they didn't save a penny they got hosed.

I never bothered to personally verify if it was true since my maps aren't even a year old yet, but the salesperson told me that the maps on the UAQ update automatically via OTA micro updates. He was a salesperson trying to sell me a truck so he may be full of it, but that's what I was told.

Personally I use Android Auto for my nav anyway, I feel it works way better that the UAQ nav and is always up to date.

The sound is different. I had to go in my audio eq settings and drop down the bass treble and mid settings for sure. But my NAV got an update. Which I use.

I've had 3 different UAS v21.9 radios in my 18 Laramie CC with factory UAS and Alpine and haven't noticed any of the reported sound quality Issues (usually have bass at +1 ). Fluke or not?

Quick question for you UAS v21.9 folks that reported the poor audio...

Do you have the standard 6 speaker system or the amplified Alpine system?

What is your cab config? 2dr /4dr ?

What is the hardware pn of your radio as reported from within the dealer menu?
ie: CVRC27NOGL (All 3 I've had)

Odd that you had to drop the treble. My treble adjustment is maxed but has little to no effect. The only time I hear any treble at all when listing to music is via Bluetooth.

I am the OP of this thread. I had the distorted audio with application version 21.9. I now have undistorted, good sounding stereo with application version 22.6.

I have the standard 6 speaker system. Four door crew cab Big Horn. My hardware part number is CVRC27NOGL.
