Where you get those?

Hidden ebay $30 gem, they are actually OEM gauge with nice TIG welds and the polished barrels are holding up great after a month. Manufactured in China, but there is a U.S. distributor for quick lead times. Requires welding a reducer to the exit pipe ball flange, but I have a 110 flux MIG that was adequate with the right amperage(Blew through the thin 201SS reducer initially). I'm more of a grinder than a welder, but its sealed and I threw a layer of high temp silicone paint over to eliminate corrosion. I used the 2.5" ID tip as they have multiple options with a 2.25-2.5" reducer.

If you don't want to spend $200+ on a prefab bolt-on tip, these can be easily done for $70 and a couple hours of prep/weld time.

Well with the stock tail pipes, you could always go with a weld-on, or you might even be able to find a set of aftermarket universal tips that clamp on but either way, you’d have to cut off the balled ends in order to do that.

Who knows, maybe perhaps part of the high-price of these might just be attributed to the fact that they bolt on just like, and in the same exact location as the factory tips, I dunno.

I know they were pricy, but I think they were well worth the cost. Easy to put on, easy to adjust to get them exactly straight. My only worry is how well the polished stainless holds up.

I'm sure the quality is worth it, and the ease of install. But, when my "want" exceeds my budget, I have to look for other avenues. ;)

True. I would just be awfull hard pressed to cut the factory ends off when there’s parts out there that let me use factory location.

Anyone who installed these direct fit tips, is there any hidden pipe length that will allow these to stick out a bit further than stock? My tailpipes are 1-2 inches shorter now after my Borla muffler was installed without any adapters...

I guess I don’t fully get what you’re asking. Are you saying that your new borla muffler is shorter than your stock muffler- or shorter than the Carven muffler, and that your Carven tips are now recessed under the bumper an inch or two? You’re prolly gonna have to add some pipe up there in front of your muffler or loosen your clamps and pull your pipe couplings apart as much as you can without making the connections leak to get ya some slack.

I don’t remember which brand they were but there are some brands that purposely make them so they stick out on inch or 2 past the bumper. Maybe looking for those will make it sit somewhat flush.

no drain hole so water just sits in pipe cant be good

The only issue I had was where they laser engraved their logo. Carven replaced them and paid shipping both ways so I have 99 1/2 years left on my warranty

You guys know anything about these? For the price, it seems like a pretty decent alternative to spending $200 on a set. I don't know about their quality, though.

From what I can tell, those are a 4” inlet typically for a diesel exhaust tail pipe. You could use them I guess, if you could find an 1.25-4.00 adapter...lol. And even then, you’ll have no adjustment at all whatsoever other than in or out for lining them up properly which, wouldn’t be an issue I don’t think, if you were just upgrading tips and not a muffler.

Yea, I noticed the 4" inlet after I posted it. I'm just looking for a different option for 5" tips, other than the $200 versions that are typically recommended on here.

If you’re wanting OEM-style fittings for the original pipe, these are about the only thing close but look no different from stock. Everything else is at or more than the Carvens. You’ll just have to look into universal bolt-on or clamp on tips after you cut that special end off is those others are too expensive.

Ever look at these? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/jex-irpt5012/overview/

Used them on my last 2 trucks, didn't have any issues with them and saved a ton of money.

Those are just chrome, tho. Not really
Much different than the stock tips.

That's fine with me. Heck, the stock tips are ok, and I'm fine with the finish on them. If these are the same, I'm good with it, too. I'm not even in hurry to swap them out. Just something to add to my "wish list" of things that I might get to one day.
