Ouch. Prius... that's below the belt.

May need to go to the range to shoot off some of that hurt.

I should've know what I was running head first into.

Maybe I'll keep this thing past 6 years and I'll regret the 3.21 gears. Longest vehicle we owned was a 2011 wrangler Rubicon... we kept it little over 6 years. Everything else has been around 4 years.

1 year in and totally happy with the truck. Only thing I wanted to change was the tires. Waiting for them to wear out first. Cant go bigger otherwise I wont fit in the parking lots I park in these days.

Its definitely the tires

I went from a stock 49LBS tire to a 72LBS tire and it killed my milage. And im going to a 81 lbs tire after this one possibly.

It is what it is. And taller gears HELP gas milage once you start going oversized tires (or just heavier).

Yup. I bought this truck off the lot with 3.92 knowing I was going oversized on the tires down the road and lifting it. Not to worried about the mpg. More about the smiles while driving
I’d personally never go to a E rated tire again if I could help it. Too bad they don’t make more C rated tires in 20 inch line the raptors KO2. E is just overkill and make it ride super stiff in my opinion

I’ve got no ride complaints about stiffness from these tires. Honestly I feel like they handle better and are smoother than the stock Goodyear’s. Less bouncy. They’re all around better tires. Also I have no issues with traction like the stock Goodyear’s. Those spun on me with the slightest bit of wet road. Also I plan on doing 35s on 18” rims. With that much sidewall my ride should be super nice and cushiony no matter what tires I run. E load or not

35s on 18 wheels will be perfect. i dont mind the 35s on 20s but would love them on 18s. i bought this truck with everything already done to it. if i were going in with a clean slate with intent on adding parts/lift...it would be 392 rear and lsd requirements 1 and 2. then add lift and tires. oh well. it doesnt ride bad. if i want more power i will reach out to jay greene. i was able to work the dealer into covering all but $400 for brand new 35x12.5 duratracs.

Agree, the gy wrangler tires aren't great on wet roads, but I have had worse. They have done well in snow and hard pack ice.

i have ran them for 5 years (2 trucks) in the past in some pretty aweful conditions. just had to know their limits. they were cheap. the duratracs on the other hand were great in the snow. even 35x12.5. not the most ideal set up. but great traction

Just can't do it, just have never had a good set of goodyears, at the same time never had a bad set of BFG's. My tire guy says Toyo's are the ay to go, and I trust the guy. For me, it will either be BFG or Toyo.

I noticed that to some degree, stock SRAs are weak. Maybe a D rated tire would have been a good compromise for me

Yes they are, it literally only takes running over a thumb tack for you to get a flat. Their only attraction is that they ride good and their cheap. Unless you go offroad or drive in a lot of snow I wouldn't waste my money on any kind of A/T tire. I would go with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S personally or the LTX A/T if I just had to have offroad tires which 99% of most people do not really need. You would be surprised how many guys complain about mileage while running heavy ass oversized off road tires with their leveled trucks= front end higher than the ass end.

I switched from the SRA to a Toyo RT, after 15,000 miles I sold then and bought P rated AT Nitto G2s and was happy with them

I have the Defender LTX MS on my truck and besides looking boring as hell, they’re an absolutely awesome tire. They’re basically a snow tire with all the sipping on the treads and are amazing In the rain. Probably not too good off road but then they have the LTX AT2 that’s a mild off road tire

Lol, I'm petty, I couldn't run a boring tire, no matter how good. I got the Discoverer ATs they dont make them anymore, but this is the new version of them. They were pretty cheap at pep boys. I feel bad for you guys with those huge rims. These tires kick ass; snow, rain, towing, plowing, they've been great. 30k miles of mostly highway, and they still look brand new. Like even still have some siping. I'm hoping to get well past the 60 they're rated for. http://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-at3-xlt.aspx

My at sports are decent m/s tires as well. I do off-road a little so street tires weren’t exactly the best for me. I bought these tires specifically for the m/s rating on them and I didn’t want passenger tires on my truck. If I want to haul or load up I wanted something with better characteristics for that

Michelin defenders are not for regions with snow.

I life my BFG's for what they are, but I did go through like 2 out of round KO2s in 5k miles. Luckily Discount Tire took care of that, but it was rather annoying. Must've been a bad batch since they're staying in spec after the two replacements. That being said I've had wayyyy more problems with Goodyears. On my Challenger the stock Goodyears had 2 with busted belts at 500 miles when I replaced them with wider Nittos and I experienced the same thing on a Pontiac I had several years ago that discount replaced the Eagle F1's on like 4 times for the same issue.

Were those goodyears good for a while, then showed issues? I have about 5000 miles on my duratracs and appear to wear evenly (have not chalk tested them). I now have a slight vibration that comes and goes. I feel its tire related (possibly lost a weight). I plan to get them road force balanced to see if that shows anything. I also feel it may be something driveline related. Getting that looked at soon as well. If the roadforce balancer were to show a bad tire, what are the odds of getting goodyear to warranty them?
