So I'm still on the fence on led tailgate lightbars... I like them, but not sure if it's too much on the back...
I'm curious about any Putco blade owners that have owned these for awhile. Horrible winter environments especially. Here they lay down soooooooo much salt and brine and anything auto destroying chemicals that rides take a beating.
Many warranty claims?? Obviously the net has so much variance, amazon reviews etc. On here it's more straight talk. Was glancing at the putco with the curt style plug/play harness.
Long term user feedback, thanks fellas!!!!

Following this----I agree with you "the net has so much variance", most everyone that has one seems to think their choice is the best----

I had basically everyone known to man (I'm not kidding). Had the cheap $5 eBay one (sucker was a champ worked even when it was filled with water), OPT7, Putco, Recon, LEDConcepts, Alpena, Auro, and a few others I can't think of. In my opinion I like the OPT7 but I will say this their customer service is spotty. My mother got me one and she ordered the 48" and I needed the 60". So I called them with it uninstalled and offered to pay to ship it back and pay the difference. They said no, ok I understand not their fault. Not the left turn signal (it's Amber the moving one like the Mustangs) isn't working and haven't heard back from them, yet. It is well built I will say that and I am going to look into it because it may be a bad trailer plug. That's my take on the issue. In all honestly though if the eBay one didn't have the spaces between the lights I would probably just replace it every year ($5 a pop) as it would be cheaper then the big name ones). It lasted 2 years before moisture got in

I have the putco and it’s been on through 2 Ohio winters so far no issues at all. I chose the putco because the led’s are smaller and closer together than most I’ve seen giving the appearance that it’s a solid light even from 3’ away. Secondly it was 5 function. The light bar with the led backup lights makes it look like daylight in the camera.
So I’d give it 5 stars so far. It’s my first bar so I don’t have anything to compare it to.

I have to agree about the LED's being close together giving the look of a continuous light. I have had mine for about a year in N. Idaho with no issues. I went the Putco Blade route on the advice of the equipment shop I purchased it from. They said it was made in the US, and the company was great to work with. A couple employee's had them on their truck as well. The shop sold some other major brands as well, and let me make the choice.

Not to highjack the thread, but can you still lower your spare tire with one of these installed? Does the light block the spare tire hole?

If you get the Putco they mount on clips so you can pop it off to access the spare tire hole. Love mine had it almost a year now, no issues and it looks great.

I will give my 2 cents even though I dont have a Putco but a Opt-7and sm not in the GREAT WHITE NORTH!
It is bright at night, very well built and sealed!
I cant speak of the putco but have recommended this bar to numerous people! Been on a year and a half and still working as its supposed to.
Only slight drawback is the amber not red turn signals but I dont see it when driving so dont care...lol
Just took a couple of pics
First is early morning 2 days after install, rest are 10 min ago. It was a ***** to catch sequential blinker in action..lmao
Edit..... also have the curt harness so all wiring hidden and neat
Edit edit..... Opt-7 closeup showing gap between leds

I had the Putco on my F150 and it was good. Performed flawless in NY winters. I went with the OPT7 triple LED on mine and my brothers Ram’s this time. Much nicer IMO. And I went with the amber turn signals. Didn’t want the red.

I have the Curt harness as well, and that sure makes for a clean install w/o attacking the integrity of any wires. I made rubber spacers that I put behind the clips when I mounted them. This made it pretty flush with the plastic guide for the spare tire removal hole. There is enough flex in the light to slightly move it to allow access for the tire removal tool, or I can unclip it. I kind of like the amber directional lights since amber can be seen better, and a good contrast to the red directional on the truck. Interesting is, when you use your hazard flashers, the lights flash red, and not amber. I do like the "sequential" turn signal lights of the Opt 7, but there is a little delay when they come on. As I have said, I m very happy with the Putco Blade.

I decided against them because of Amber turnsignals

Unless you request it, I don't think any of the spray on bed liners are on the part where the LED bar goes.

So you were able to use the Curt harness and not actually splice the OPT7 into the factory harness? Did you have to get the 4-pin module?
On Amazon it says:
"If you have any combination of a Rear Camera, Rear Parking Sensor, and/or Trailer Tow Assist but do not have a Blind Spot Sensor then you need the TRIPLE ROW REAR SENSOR 4-PIN MODULE (sold seperately on AMZ).
