So got er all done on Sunday (well Monday since I ****** up the new sump filter seal when installing so had to wait for dealer to open yesterday to grab a new one).

Was a pain getting the new Mag-hytec pan on without removing the exhaust crossover, but luckily was able to get it or else I would've had to cut the exhaust clamps off, gotta love the salt!

Torqued pan down, added some fluid to ensure no leaks, added just about 9 quarts C+ in total.

Performed a Quicklearn using Alfaobd in the driveway and took her for a spin. Smooth as butter so far!

Didn't take many pics as @R.L.K.
@U&A and several others have pretty well covered all the bases
but I'll grab a couple when I recheck bolts on the pan.

Fluid looked pretty good, normal amount of material on the stock magnet I'd say.

Did you have a good amount of tare torque on the new Mag-Hytech hardware ?

Let us know how much movement you get on the torque check after a few heat cycles [emoji1360]
Did you use the new gasket that came with the pan or just RTV sealant ?

I'll be honest, it isn't something I thought to check. Can that only be done with the dial type indicators?

I'll be rechecking them today so will keep you posted. There are two bolts that I can't access with a torque wrench so I'll try to get to those when I replace the rusted exhaust clamp.

And for the gasket I just used the one with the Mag hytec pan, didn't use any RTV at all. With how tight it was getting in there it would've been a huge mess anyway.

A dial is the best to measure tare , but this can be done with a click style that has a small incremental graduations .
I have a small in lb tq. wrench that I used. , I was surprised at the amount of tare I had. , If I remember correctly I believe it was around 30inlbs ? Been a while so can't remember exactly .
I did post it up here somewhere ?
I did.get quite a bit of movement on my tq check though [emoji1303]

Good info sir!

Just so everyone understands that is with RLK’s torque wrench and driver setup...Yours could be much different.

Well, to add closure to my situation, we decided we were done dealing with the transmission issues. They put it together one last time (the 4th time) and went in for an upgrade.8a878d6987d3b227a3c376400860c7ec.jpg

That looks REALLY nice[emoji847].... but im partial to white with black trim

Good luck with the new truck sir. Obviously an 8speed. You get an extended warranty? Or are you going to plan for the aftermarket trans pan and some redline D6...?

It may be wise to start researching now and deciding what your service intervals are going to be for this new transmission.

The more the merrier IMO. always having Clean fluid it THE BEST thing you can do for a trans. And Redline D6 is a fantastic fluid.

Good luck sir.

I did not opt for an extended warranty. I wasn't expecting to trade in at all, let alone this soon so I haven't done much research beyond what I already know. So I have some reading to do. I love the 8 speed. I'll miss the center shifter, that is the only thing I'll miss about that truck.

Thank you. Redline will be going in after I put a few thousand miles on. My wife was pretty set on getting a Grand Cherokee Summit, but we drove the Rebel after driving the GC and she was won over. I'll stop clogging the thread with irrelevant chatter. Almost had to leave the Ram family, but I'm sticking around for a while.

Let us know how you like the new ride after breaking her in! I know I am on the fence right now about upgrading to a new one.

Will do. The power and drivability over the 2012 is way better. I'm really enjoying it stock vs the 2012 with the few mods I had, including the 4.10 swap. I already ordered a catch can, and I intend to put the Vararam back on once I figure out if I want to cut the upper dam thing. I'd like a muffler swap to get some sound back, but outside that and maybe a tune a little down the line, I plan on driving it as is.

Well I'm still in a '17, so wouldn't be much of a jump for me I wouldn't think anyway. I am honestly just torn on the new body style. When I see it in darker colors I just don't like it. But in lighter and neutral colors, like yours, I love it. Honestly I probably just need to wait anyway, but am definitely curious on how it performs and feels and drives.

Coming from a '17, probably won't feel much different other than the size and comfort inside. It definitely feels a little bigger than the '12, but very comfortable to drive, which was one of the reasons I was sold on it.
