Hey guys I just picked up a hellwig rear sway bar for my reg cab ram. Ive noticed these trucks have a pretty bad lean when you turn and for some reason it feels a lot more noticeable then my friends crew cab. Maybe it's the short wheel base? Anyways I'm just curious to hear what setting you guys are running and what can I expect after I install it.

Start in the middle hole.
If it feels too stiff / bouncy in the back go to the outmost hole.
If you like more go the other direction.
I tried all three settings and settled on the softest one.
I have a CC though.

Well I installed the sway bar today and I'm amazed how well planted the truck feels when your driving. It felt the best on the stiffest setting. I highly recommend getting one of these.

I was racing in the North Georgia Mountains all day on stock suspension and no rear sway bar. Was killing it up the canyons:happy107:

The downside at as hard as possible is it will reduce traction on the inside rear tire on a fast turn. This can and usually leads to a very nice spin out on a truck. If you can go softer and still feel planted I would suggest it.

Does anyone know if the Hellwig rear sway bar will work on a RAM with 4 corner air suspension?

I can see that happening, but ya I don't take corners like a mad man though. It's not a rally car. Lol I guess it could be a slight issue on a slightly slick road in the winter time.

Exactly. One of the common misconceptions is that the "sway bar" (more correctly anti-roll bar) merely affects body roll. It also changes the oversteer/understeer characteristics of a vehicle. Increasing the rear anti-roll bar stiffness makes the vehicle more tail-happy. It might not be very noticeable on dry pavement but more so on dirt roads, wet pavement or snow. There might be a surprise around the corner :)

^^ This ...
... is totally true!
And therefore I settled on the softest setting with my RWD and open diff.
Feels "planted" enough but still driveable.

I run mine in the middle hole. Truck is definitely more planted, but I bought it for towing a heavy 27' travel trailer. It made a massive difference in rear end stability. Considerably less sway from the tail wagging the dog.

I've not noticed the rear becoming loose during normal driving, dry or wet pavement.

To revive an older thread... for those that have installed the rear sway bar, did you also install the front sway bar?

I had Hellwigs on my Avalanche and noticed it made a HUGE difference, but I did both front and rear.

I installed it on the rear only, I dropped the rear 2". My wife even noticed the difference, for the better, in the ride and feel.

Stock front is adequate for 99% of drivers, get the rear it's worth every penny and you'll know it as soon as you pull the OEM hollow POS.

Kind of what I was thinking. My front sway bar on the Avalanche didn't seem to do TOO much, but in the back, it made a huge difference. I had it on the innermost hole for the stiffer setting.

If you think the sway bar does a good job in making your truck feel more "planted", pair that sway bar with a set of Core 4x4 lower control arms and you'll really find out what a difference they make in conjunction with each other. IMHO-- a great set up!

Do you need the factory end links?? Can someone post a link to the exact one suggested for my 2017 ram 1500 4x4 crew cab? We just got a 27' trailer and I'd like to make it as smooth of a ride as possible.
