Okay, please tell me there are some of you on here who have Android based phones and can help me out with this issue...

I've got a 50/50 shot as to whether Android auto connects via the USB cable in my 2018 PW. Seems that if I get in the truck early before it gets hot (I'm in AZ so like around 8am) then Android auto will connect when I plug my phn into the USB media and Uconnect recognizes it.

Once it gets hot, I've got almost no chance of Android auto connecting via Uconnect. Phn will charge, but the USB won't engage Android auto. I can start it on my phn and it works from my phn but not on Uconnect.

I've got 4 different stock USB cables and they all work for about a week solid and then after that it's back to my original problem. Not 100% certain its heat related, that's just when I notice the issue. But it's really been over the last like 2 months the issue surfaced. I bought my PW in the summer a yr ago and didn't have the issue until this summer.

This could probably go in the normal forum, but I've got a PW so it's going here. Any help would be appreciated.

What version of the media hub do you have? I have the one one out of my 17 before i did a UAQ conversion. I can send it to you if you want to trouble shoot there also?

My PW is a 2018, I believe it has a UAQ system in it already, but I'll have to double check. I've got no NAV unless I use Google maps and it's gotta go through Android auto to work.

Are your USB cables over 6ft? Android auto and car play can get glitchy if cables are over 6ft. The actual distance is around 10 ft, but you have to account for the distance between the hub and back of deck.

I'm using the stock Samsung USB C cable that came with my phn. Also have used my wife's as well. They aren't 6 feet, I think 4 is the standard but could be wrong

I've been using these Aukey USB C cables without issue for over a year now in my 18 with factory UAS.

AUKEY USB C Cable Short, 0.7ft .

Actually it may be the 1ft cable from this multi pack since I have both.

AUKEY USB C Cable 3.0, 5 Pack.

I will add that some of the 13-17 radios had issues with bad solder joints in extreme temperatures (usually cold). It's possible either your radio or USB hub has bad solder joints if it isn't the cable. The hub has a seperate 8 pin audio/power connector from the USB data cable that goes back to the radio. May try reseating those as well.

M² Mods.

I've been having this issue also. I'd have to check my cable lengths but I don't think they are 4 feet..

Did you ever figure this out? I just traded my 2017 Big Horn on a 2018 Big Horn. Mainly to get the Hemi and Android Auto. I have a OnePlus 7t on Android/Oxygen 10.0.12.

I've tried all kinds of cables and different settings. Yesterday I got the AA icon on the truck radio for a few seconds after I turned off USB Debugging...but it disconnected and I can't get it to connect no matter what. My phone recognizes the connection and launches the AA app automatically when it connects to the truck's bluetooth. I've very disappointed.

Finding a quality cable helped me but didn't fix the problem entirely. I will have the occasional issue but things are much better. Also a lot of folks are having problems with the usb port especially in the console (solder joints). Might be my issue too, just haven't had the time to take the console apart.

No, I'm still having issues. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S20+ plus now. So it's making me thing it's more the truck than a cable or phone.

just a thought, what about rebooting your system or checking to see if there are any updates for it.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 with 22k miles on it. This feature does not work. It worked for about 20 minutes and since has not. I tried different cables and phones.

This is a broken feature within the Uconnect system, whether solder or something else, the system is over priced junk. Tried contacting Dodge, zero help with this system, they refer you off to Uconnect support. Utterly ridiculous, I used to be a diehard Dodge fan, but we are buying my wife a second vehicle in a couple months, which was going to be the New Durango, but due to this issue and a couple other issues that imply that quality is no longer on the top of Dodges concerns, we will be buying something else.

welp. Feel free to run over to another brand and have the same ******** happen. Read up on other brand forums...they all have their problems.
