Looks amazing! Those are the "open box" XB's correct??

Yeppers $600 with that 4th of july 25% off discount had to pull them open and fix the adjusters. Might have to pull the passanger side open again it looks like there is something off with the outside projector aiming at the ground and separate from the inner one. Haven't had time to re-open it up yet and didnt really notice it before putting it back together.

I sent mine to Retro Shop to get them all dialed in. Even with their fee i still come out on top with these "open box" XBs!

I dont mind the idea of $600.00 for an open box set, but if I had to open them up once (much less twice) to fix them, how much have I actually saved?

Time is money, as they say :)

They are made from butyl literally took me less than 10 minutes to open it up. Now I agree if they were permaseal it would have been a way worse project and probably wouldn't have bothered with them.

Butyl is what makes them easily opened and resealed. I sent mine in because i am unfamiliar with exactly how to fix them and i wanted it done right. Either way i still saved over $500 on a set that basically looks new.

This whole thread has become a ***** fest from some saying to expensive, some crying about the output is not better than stock projectors/quads. Really just watching people cry cause the option is not for you. Don't like them for any reason just refrain from purchase or comment. Its one thing to have an opinion but really how are helping if all u do is cry. Wouldn't it be easier to just let those people who choose a diff source for there headlights to just be. But then again I'm a just go back to my drink aka Jack and coke and continue to laugh at how this thread continue to get jacked by others hope the original thread gets back on topic or not. 5a78541372e55dd5786ae91beef8fee1.jpg

If anyone wants a set, brand new, I'm selling mine. Decided to leave my Limited in stock form. Only one box was opened to inspect the headlight, never installed.

I'm new to the whole baking headlights open thing but were there any issues with burning the wires when you baked it open? What were your oven settings and how hard was it removing the front part of the housing to get to the adjusters?

I used my grill... but I wouldnt recommend that if you dont know what your doing. 200 degrees for 15 minutes is plenty enough just make sure you dont have it directly on metal put down like a 2x4 thats what I use.

I would also suggest watching some videos online before attempting.

I used my kitchen oven (dont tell my wife!)

It wouldnt go down to 200, so I used the lowest it could do which was 225. About 10 minutes each side of the light since I also couldnt enable convection at such a low temp. Just flipped the light halfway through.

Keep in mind that was for opening ModifyStreet lights, not stock or Morimotos. They used something like Permaseal but didnt seem like they used too much of it, so it was easy to deal with (and that was my first time opening lights, too!)

Thanks for the advice. I watched a couple of videos, but they were all regular housings with your typical bulb sockets (no bulbs or wires). My main concern are the wires, but I read that using some wet cardboard on the base and on the wires would protect it pretty well.

I heard the Morimotos use Butyl rather than Permaseal, unless they changed it for the "updated" versions, which I have (matte black interior surrounded by piano black and updates modules).

I like these lights but not sure if I want to get into rewiring stuff. Are these truly plug and play?

I read through about 10 pages, looks like there's some extra work involved.

They are plug in play in the sense most can just hook them up and be done with it.

Some have fuse taps I believe.

Fuse taps are just for the extra power wires correct?

I'm trying to decide on if I should go with the OEM black background projectors I have new in the box or possibly sell them and the OEM chrome projectors and go with these. On my new truck I'm trying not to modify everything so the closer to stock the better for this one.

My vote is get them. I think they have improved the quality on the newer batches, so you’re less likely to have problems. They look pretty great!

So I flipped a coin and picked up a set recently. When I got these adjusted it looks like there is a drop out in the center. I actually sent this photo to Morimoto, asking for advice on what I could do to adjust them.

This is the reply I got

“ Each headlight is going to be the brightest directly in front of it, so you will be able to see a bit of an overlap section where the two hot-spots meet in the middle as they're dimming out. This is, as you can see, partially due to the step in the passenger beam being lower than the top of the drivers side headlight. Based on the pictures however, they do appear to be aimed correctly, and still have plenty of light directly in front of the vehicle.”

So maybe this is correct, but it doesn’t look like the other photos I have seen on the forum. I have adjusted them horizontally, tilted,, and raised and lowered. This is the best I can get. What’s your opinion?

(In this photo, the drivers light step down is just outside the picture)
If I bring the passenger light up I can get rid of the hole in the middle, but there are two steps with that

One of the people there, not gonna mention any names, told me it was fine, and there was “plenty of light”.

Perfectly fine it looks bad because your trucks so close to the fence.
