...are y'all paying (not just seeing since we all know advertised and actual numbers usually vary)?

I'm in the market for a 2500 or 3500 and they seem to be all over the place. I'm curious what you new HD owners have paid for '18s during the last few months.

Thanks!

I got mine for 48,000 out the door. Tax, tags, doc fees, etc. Sticker on it was 53 and change.

I know around here you will get way more off on a gasser than a diesel.

Yep, and that's exactly what I'm banking on...local dealer has a pair of consecutively numbered (and optioned) 3500s with the 6.4, so I'm hoping he doesn't want to buy 'em any more birthday cakes. Aged inventory can be a good thing for buyers!

Dang....they still have some new/left over 2018s on the lot? That's crazy if they do!

^^Nice TC. What dealership did you go to? I bought mine here in Fayetteville, never considered a Ram before this one. I've got the Laramie Mega Cab. I don't know enough about the package differences though between the Laramie and the Tradesman.

Lillington. I really got lucky. Couldn't find a deal like this anywhere else. I've upgraded my Tradesman myself and saved about $10-$15K that the dealers charge for the Big Horns & Laramie's.

I think I was around 37 out the door with my 2016 slt 4x4 with the 6.4. It had been sitting at the dealer for a long time. Had it listed $12,000 off MSRP but of course added some back with fees. I couldn't even get into a tradesman diesel for under $44,000 which is a substantial difference in payment. Starting my own business at the time I couldn't afford the difference, but the 6.4 has done everything I need it to do. My main complaint is fuel mileage as now with a camper top and ladder racks, and 35 inch tires, I cant crack 13mpg on the highway.

Turns the Dallas dealer I visited today would not budge from $10K off sticker...guess he wants to buy those two 3500s birthday cakes! Seems to me after almost a year of sitting on his lot, he'd want to get rid of 'em! I assume he didn't need to sell trucks today. His loss, not mine.

BTW, the dealer was Forest Lane CDJR and there was at least $2K in unstated dealer adds! Seriously, carpet protection in 2019? Ugh...

I looked at a brand new 2018 Laramie 2500 CC 6.4 in late April. Sticker was $62k. They added what rebates I qualified for and that was it. Wouldn't budge from there. That put it at $53k. They wouldn't know any off of their price, only the rebates. Son was also looking and found a brand new 2018 2500 Big Horn diesel with a $63k sticker. They would drop to $57k and that was it. He also found a used 2018 Cummins Big Horn with 45000 miles and 2 carfax reports for $46k and a 2016 Cummins Big Horn with 20000 miles on it for $45k. This was 4 different dealers and none would budge off those numbers. This was in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland areas

Over the last 5 years or so, paying 80ish % of MSRP was pretty common. This seemed to cross over both gas and diesel. If gas is being discounted more than diesel on 18s I'd theorize it's because there are such big changes with the 8spd tranny for 2019. Power train wise the diesel doesn't have much change between 18 and 19.

Some of the % listed on this thread are discouraging to say the least. I get it with new models but on a 2018 I'd personally need at least 20% off MSRP to take a year+ old truck. Keep in mind 2020 is only a few months away. I guess I can see a dealer getting somewhat belligerent after sitting on a truck over a year and wanting to make some money but I'd also wish him good luck with that :). Kind of like a stubborn home seller who refuses to listen to the market and just chases his house to the bottom.

I guess if I were going diesel I'd jump on an 18 with a heavy discount. If I were going gas there's no way I'd take a 6spd tranny when the glorious 8spd is out there.

Pretty big changes in the diesel for 2019. I still opted for the 2018 with a little over 20% off msrp...but I was on the fence for about a day..haha

Funny you say that—I’m test driving a CPO ‘18 2500 Tradesman with the CTD today. Got several options I like so we’ll see! While it ain’t new, they’re asking about $14K off the sticker. Not great but it is a CPO rig and that’s worth something to me.
