Sounds expensive. I just had my truck Krown coated for $135.00 Canadian.

I have also never heard of Rust Free do you mean Corrosion Free?

Here is an article comparing Rust Check, Krown and Corrosion Free.

I have no idea who the writer is so take it for what it is worth.

IMO any "oil like" rust inhibitor is better than using nothing and hoping your ride doesn't rust.

I use Krown because it has good reviews and there is a dealer close to my wife's work.

The price you are paying does seem very high since your dollar is worth so much more than ours.

I would ask if trucks start at $149.95 Canadian (on your link) why yours is $200 US ($264.31 Canadian at todays exchange rate).

I did see the pricing in Canada was cheaper ! But some things here do run high :O Fluid Film average is 150$ US. Just like Rust Check in Canada :O I do like the fact that Rust Check does spray light areas and door panels .
I may still suck it up and pay the 200$ as there are no other Rust Check Dealers near me :(
Thanks for that link

It's $149.95 + tax to have a 4dr pickup Krowned in the Buffalo NY area, so basically I'm looking at $163 for a flimsy Krown job. I had my truck done last September and it seemed like a real weak job. Zero evidence of the stuff under the truck within a month or two, although I did see some oil staining under the doors, etc for a good 6-8 months. Not sure if I want to go back or buy a fluid film or woolwax kit for less money and do it myself.

I don't have any RustChecks in my area, but we do have a Corrosion Free. I was tempted to call, but heard it's like $300.

We get our vehicles Krowned every two years. They recco every year but I bought a case of the Krown spray cans for like $50 and just spot treat areas where the salt/sand/etc. wear it away. I bought the case 3 years ago and I just finished the first can prepping this year. Haven't had any issues and folks that buy our cars seem to really appreciate it, especially when they see the hole plugs from Krown shooting in all the body panels etc. After the second treatment a good thick coating builds up which really stands up to the crap they throw down on the roads around here (Poconos) during winter.

Just found the Shop across the street from where I work does Crown. Will see if I get the same negative results as you did ! Your poor results may have been from a bad installer ! I will post up when my RAM gets done and inspect it once a month to see :)

Be prepared that Krown will drip for up to a week on your first application and a few days less for every application after that. I get both my vehicles done yearly.

I tell them not to do the underside of the hood or anything directly inside the engine bay because I don't like oil all over my motor. If you don't say anything they will spray it all.

Don't park in your driveway or garage unless you throw an old tarp down. Any stains left on the street will wear away over time so I don't worry about them.

I have had no issues with Krown like PoMansRam. I Fluid Filmed our Jeep and my old truck one year and prefer Krown.

Great good to hear ! And 50$ less then the Rust Check is nice lol I was warned about the dripping from Rust Check and Krown , But I have a gravel driveway so that should not be a issue :)

I have been using Fluid Film on my power wagon every year right before winter, so am getting pretty familiar with it. How does Krown differ, and why do you like it better? Thanks!

^^^ I found there was more Krown left underneath our Jeep when it came time for recoating.

I did also have to apply the Fluid Film myself with cans as there is no dealer to apply it here.

What I was paying for the cans to do the Jeep more than covered the cost to have Krown do it and I didn't have get covered in the crap.

I have nothing against Fluid Film, I think it is a great product and still use it to lube door hinges and whatnot.

Properly applied fluid film will out preform krown garbage everytime. Krown will drill unnecessary holes, even right beside a factory hole. Spray cans of fluid film aren't as good as being done professionally as the cans use a propellent to spray and the proofs use thicker ff sprayed with air.
Ff has a very high creep factor, when you spray inside the frame and body panels, it really creeps to every right space.
Also ask you krown fans, check behind the wheel well liners on your ram, I'll bet you won't find a drop of krown in there as most dealers won't pull them out even drill a hole to get to the panel behind.
I'm a huge fan of Ff, but this year I'm trying Lloyd's ad2000, it's the same lanolin wool wax products as Ff, but I can get it at a much cheaper price.

Anything is better than nothing. I purchased a spray gun kit to spray Fluid Film myself. I think a gallon of F/F and the spray kit was under $150. Did my truck and used just under a half gallon of Fluid Film

Another Krown fan here.Been using it for years. All installers are not created equal though. The shop that I used to use(stones throw from work)got a new owner a couple of years ago and their service has gone down hill.Moved to a new shop and all is right with the world again.Wouldn't use anything else myself.

We just got a Krown dealer in Bangor last year :) I was going to do Rust Check but was not crazy for the shop! The place the took on Krown has a good rep, so once weather breaks in goes my RAM. I will was in top to bottom and blow out as muck dirt as I can find :O
