Wattage, bulb type and color i i know whats needed, but what about those other options on that link you provided?

If you plan on using AlphaOBD to enable HID’s then you can bypass the need for any relays, harnesses, adapters, any of that extra junk. As for the mounts, that’s up to you if you want to use their preface mounts or if you want to make your own mounts, or stuff everything inside the headlight if it fits.

On that link, you don’t need anything except what’s included in the kit, you don’t need any extra adding that cost money. So just select the watt, 35w or 55w, select your bulb type (whatever the bulb type is you are replacing) then select the color temp you want the bulb to be. That’s it.

Now if you are not planning on using AlphaOBD then may god be with you lol I’m j/k but HID’s are a huge pain in our trucks. You will need to buy a different HID kit from DDM. You would need the most expensice one (I think it’s called the Ultra Canbus) and you would also need a relay harness on top of the Ultra Canbus Kit. The relay harness type is the same as the bulb type you are replacing (so if your replacing an H11 bulb you would select H11 as the bulb type for the hid bulb selection and also H11 for the harness type). With these trucks, there’s no telling if a certain brand HID kit will work with your truck. It’s either hit or miss. Take my 2012 as an example. Tons and tons of members in here run the Morimoto HID kits on their 09-18 Rams with canbus adapters or the molar spec relay and they have no issues. My truck, no matter what harness or canbus adapters I tried, the Morimoto kits would never work. I had to enable HID in AlphaOBD to finally get an HID kit to work and it ended up being a $40 kit off Amazon that worked over the Morimoto kit which still didn’t work after AlphaOBD. So for some reason my specific truck doesn’t like Morimoto HID kits.

But back on topic. I’d order that $35 hid kit and then order the MX OBD Bluetooth Adapter and buy the AlphaOBD app. It will save you money in the long run and a ton of headaches and time wasted on relays and harnesses.

PM me if you need anymore help. I build Ram headlights on a daily basis.

I've had morimoto now for 18 months with no issues, however last week the pass side light was like a strobe light. I turned off/on the headlights and it "seems" to have fixed itself but now I've lost confidence in them. I'm thinking of ordering the DDM kit too.

Damn thats bright! I thought we weren't supposed to go higher then 35w or it would get too hot and possibly melt projector housing?
What color are those?

They've been in there for 8 months without issue. Just plugged straight into the factory wiring with HID enabled in the BCM.

HIDs are 5500, and LEDs are 6000

For what it’s worth, I have the DDM Ultra Canbus HIDs for Lows and I’m disappointed with the light output. Mine are no where near as bright as the pic above, but they are 35W, not 50W. I do have the factory projectors (2014 Limited). Mine are also bluish for 5500Ks.

If I had to do it over again I would go with Morimotos.

I wouldn't know. I've only ran 6k in the fogs on my trucks.

I personally like the looks of matching the headlights in 5500-6000k colour but a lot of guys run the yellow (3000k?) wrap over theirs which apparently is way better in actual fog and snow.
My 55w 6000k HID’s make a 5500k colour which is what my XB fogs are rated at. I should get my diode dynamics switchbacks installed today which I believe are 6000k. I think it will look awesome.

My 2012 still running the halogen quads and I find them to be plenty bright and far reaching -and the fogs light up the sides great-plus Im not blinding everyone. I wouldnt change them out unless I drove alot in the wilderness at night where there is alot of deer etc. I hate guys with ultra bright headlights when there are street lights already-usually bmws by the way-especially when its raining.

SO I read until I went cross eyed. I wanted to run a LED over HID for a few reasons .. I just feel that the HIDs will give me a few more problems over the LEDs, I don't want to drill my headlights and I am aware that I may have to "swell" the caps for LEDs ..and then there's cost. I'm not a total tight *** but hey let's face it.. I like money, I'm a BreadFan! Even with considering all of the good/bad and lesser evils that both have, it was hard to ignore a review that I read on bulbfacts.com for the Hikari Ultra LEDs (Link below) Rated their #1 LED for a projector housing and even rated brighter than the first 10 HID kits they've tested so far. So I just ordered the Hakari Ultra LED kit. bulbfacts provides a 10% off code so my grand total was $86 through Amazon.. and a 2 year warranty. I'll do an install and test thread later in the week. They should be here tomorrow. I rarely run high beams and am still trying to decide on a LED fog kit.. open to low budget suggestions.

Will be looking forward to your review, I've always ran hid's in my projectors but would prefer LED's for better long term reliability. And like you said, doesn't hurt that they price is right as well.

Agreed, thought about different headlights, but I like the look of the halogen quads. Might get some different bulbs at some point, but they are fine for my use.

So I started thinking.. I really don't want to pull everything apart and just do low beams. Might as well do highs at the same time! And we'll, then there's fogs! Might as well do them now also. I didn't want to want to just buy everything off of Amazon and not spend some $$ locally if possible. We have a truck/jeep shop just down the road (Firewire) so I stopped in to see what they had to offer. A buddy of mine uses them for his personal Ram and company semis and has been pleased. Worth a shot. I grabbed some leds for highs and fogs and it set me back $200. I'll review them as well once everything is back together. Got some LED back up lights coming from Amazon tomorrow too.

I bought the ddm ultra hids for my projectors, still havnt installed them. I just see so many recommending hids in projectors over leds. Standing by for your review!
I was just gonna leave the highs as is and only do the fogs, maybe install those hikari 9006 fogs. Also saw some switching fogs i may try, kinda cool to be able to switch white to yellow.

I saw those switching LEDs as well.. Didn't even think about using them as fogs. I thought "why would I want yellow headlights?" Can't remember the mfr tho..

Now I remember.. I was looking at Supernova V.4 on their site. Was going to buy a set but every time I went to check out, I would get a error page. Pissed me off so I did some more research and found that the Hikari LEDs produced better. The yellow would be a nice option for fogs tho
