I recently took my truck in to the dealer to have multiple recalls performed. There was one for the occupant restraint system, one for the tailgate and one for the cruise control.

The truck stays at my home in Florida while I'm currently working in VA so I only get to use it a few times each year. Also, this is why it took so long to get the truck to the dealer to get the recall work addressed.

When I was at the dealer, I told them I didn't want the recall done that requires the vehicle to be in park to be able to open the doors. In order to back my boat on the trailer in my driveway, I have to make a 90 degree turn, while navigating around a tree and my mailbox. Thus, I generally open the driver's door to be able to see the obstacles. I had to sign a waiver in order for them not to perform this recall, but that was not an issue for me.

They completed the work and I drove away happy. I can still back up with the door open, but now my cruise control no longer works. I haven't called the dealer yet, but wanted to find out if this has happened to anyone else before calling them.

I've read that some on this forum had that problem. You just need to go back & have them reflash it.

I fall under that recall as well although i never actually got the letter in the mail, i never use control unless on a long trip. I have never had an issue when using it. I never go in for recalls unless its something real important, like engine, driveline or suspension work. If it ain't broke comes to mind.. just my 2 cents

For me the big issue was the tailgate recall. I didn't want it coming open as I was driving down the road. While at the dealership, they tried to address the other open recalls, the cruise control being one of them.

I'd be leery on the re-visit that you will wind-up with the auto park "feature" installed. It's never been an issue with me because as long as your seat belt is on, it won't slam itself into park.

I tried on my 18 and it didn't take.. there's two lines that need to be changed in the menu.. no luck
It's just stupid to back up my trailer without being able to open the door to check clearances on the fly.
One piece of advice that was shared on here is that if you have the belt buckled under you it wont put it into park with the door open.

Hopefully there will be an update on alfaobd to address this. The other one is nav lock disable, wish i could get rid of that
