THX for the reply, it's the same as yours,a 26 gallon tank I have owned 25 years and since the fuel pump replac. It holds 28+, I watched a utube video and a guy took out this plastic tube from the filler neck and says he gets about 3+ more gallons but I don't know why they would take it out, but it is what it is I guess lol Thx James
Hey man. No worries. Which YouTube video did you watch where they took a plastic tube out of the filler neck? Did they remove the vent tune that allows air to escape as the tank fills up?
For all of my RAM's, Dakota's & Durango's I've owned over the last 21 years + all of my older Mopars I have always been able to get more fuel into them despite the owners manual and the service manual saying the tank is a certain size. When I run my 2011 RAM 3500 6.7 Cummins truck low on fuel I can always get more than 34 gallons into the tank. Most of the Chrysler fuel tanks will hold more than advertised if you top them off.
Like your 1994 BR/BE, if you ever have the pump out again, look at the location of where the float is at its highest location and compare it to where the contact points are on the potentiometer on the fuel level sending unit. The tank still has room to hold about another 2 gallons once it's topped off all the way up the filler neck.
Like I said in my earlier post, my 2004 DR has a 26 gallon tank and just last night I put 28.2 gallons in during the fill-up.
