Thinking about replacing my 8.4AN with aftermarket.

Hi all. I am thinking about replacing my 8.4 navi radio in my 2015 Big Horn with an aftermarket radio/iDatalink.

My only hesitation's are the price and screen size. I wouldn't get anything smaller like the 6.9 or smaller screens as it just doesn't seem to make sense.

I would love to get one of the Android Tesla styles but I put an Eonon Android radio in my run around Mazda 3 and with the slow response and bad interface, I think I will opt out of that option.

The only things I am looking for are: Screen size at least as large as the existing, Android Auto and a clean interface.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also, would anyone in buying this existing radio? It works perfectly, I just need a change. I also have SiriusXM built-in to this one so I would also supply the module, if separate (I don't plan to use SiriusXM through the radio). I am thinking anyone with the smaller non-touch radio could make use of this one or anyone with a broken 8.4. I can go and get the unlock code for anyone interested.

How much would you be asking for the 8.4 w/SXM?

Alpine makes some larger than 7" screen radio's. Also you'll need the idatalink maestro rr and ch3 to retain all the features of the 8.4

@McBroom thanks. I have no idea how much. If a fair offer is made I would consider. It certainly would be no where near the infotainment.com 1600 dollar price. But anything fair I would consider.

Ch3 is just the wiring harness needed to adapt the maestro to our trucks

Halo 9 is probably best option if you want that size. I'm still torn between Halo or 8.4 for my 5.0 replacement. Just got the wife a new Durango with 8.4 and now I'm getting the urge to switch soon.

Sony just came out with a 9 inch similar to Halo but I don't think it works with idata maestro

Now that pac audio bezel looks fantastic. It seems to solve all aftermarket problems one would run into with Ram's integrated controls without the need for an iDatalink.
Any idea on how much it will really cost?

Quick search and the cheapest I found it was $499 and some places are bundling it with a alpine radio for just under a grand. I know there is another company that makes a similar dash kit but you'd still need the idatalink maestro rr and ch3 and if I remember right it's around $100-150. If I can remember who makes it I'll post it. I know it's one of the companies that makes all kinds of dash kits just am drawing a blank right now

Just saw that the Halo 11 is coming out. Was announced at CES few days ago, I was waiting just hoping they would go Halo9 with wireless android auto but instead they just went bigger. Still wired but will have 11 inch screen

Tempting really wish it sat flush and that the damn dash kit wasn’t so expensive or else I’d switch out my “7 avh4200. How’s the climate controls work with that setup.
