My Hikari 9006 bulbs have been in for 1 year now and haven't failed yet but I mainly use them for back roads, inclement weather and highway driving.

They get sprayed at the car wash every tank of gas...

Not yet. Too much going on today. It’s going to have to be a next weekend project. I just messed with some Alfa settings today. Next weekend I will pull it apart and go back to factory settings and start going one by one and hope it’s an easy fix.

It's weird but it does seem that every truck responds differently to upgrades

2018 Ram 2500 6.4L Hemi Tradesman

My G2's were plug and play 0 errors. 2017 with factory quad. I have changed nothing in alfa. I want to upgrade to Hikari ultras but I'm sure I'll then open a world of errors. Have most of you getting errors changed the bulbs or are you getting errors with the G2 as is?

You kept halogen bulbs?

Did you you connect the DRL setup? If so, how did you connect it?

I didn't realize that they had resistors in them already but was getting that same parking light out error, so i added in a load resistor into the parking light wire and havnt had one error show up since I did that couple months ago

I'd suggest soldering them in though cause connectors dont last long they get corroded

For those with parking light out on the Gen2 lights, try using Alfa to set "CBC Features - LED Front Park/Marker Lamps Present" to "Yes" and report back if that works or not.

I guess so I didn't even know what they came with. I kept the bulbs that came with the G2. Plugged in like 2 plugs and ran the DLR with the provided wire they give you that goes from battery, to fuse 66 tap, to the lights. Everything works perfect

Do you have the basic 3.5” instrument cluster, or the premium 7” cluster?

That’s most likely why you’re not getting the errors, as the premium cluster picks up on them and displays them.

Interesting maybe I shouldn't upgrade until you guys figure it out. Which is annoying but so is random bulb out errors

When the Gen2s started "catching on" it seems we have an uptick of "parking light out" errors being posted in this (and other) threads. So, something with how Gen2 works vs Gen1 seems to be causing an issue.

I have modified my Gen1 set to work very much like Gen2, albeit with aftermarket components. I have not seen how the Gen2 is wired BUT I was able to re-create the "parking lamp out everytime you turn on the headlights" issue, by haivng my Front Parking/Marker LED Present set to "No".

Once I set it back to "Yes", the error went away. I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with how both upper and lower LED strips are powered in the gen2 (and my own modified gen1) lights. Thats why I suggested making that change, but without the premium EVIC, you might not see the error anyway.

I'll pile on here. I finally got an error by turning OFF LED low beams (because I have HID enabled and HIDs installed). This caused me to receive a "low beam bulb out" error when turning on high beams. I didn't receive this error when I had actual LED lows installed.

Originally had factory Quads. Currently have G2s. Seems there is an error code slider that sums multiple inputs before triggering.
