Hey everyone!
Going to have to fix the rockers on my 03 QC. Have a few holes now through the rockers on passenger side, drivers side is fine right now but might as well do it too since it will only be a matter of time.

Whats the best way to do this? buy some slip on and cut out the rust and weld them in? I'm a competent welder with the necessary tools to do it. Not sure where to get the rockers from, or Do I just cut my own from some sheet metal?

Thanks

Get the full rockers and cab corners. I think Raybuck was the best price.
Trim below the hinge so you don't have to worry about the door shifting. Will take about a day per side working at a steady pace. Butt weld don't slap weld.

Buy the pre-formed ones and it will save you more than just time. Spend the time you would have been forming the sheet metal working OT at work.

I know doing the full rocker would be the best and proper way. But realistically If I can get 3 more years out of this truck I'd be pretty happy. I'm still kind of just wanting to do the outer skins/ slip on style to keep it decent for a few more years yet. We'll see

Full meaning not the whole side from the factory but the full aftermarket rocker instead of the slip on. Slip on does not come with the ends etc. Full ones do.
Price difference is negligible. $40 v $80.
