Curious how ceramic will hold up to trail abuse - the pin striping, etc. that you get from branches?

It will not prevent "trail pinstripes". You still going to get the scratches.

Will it protect the paint / clear coat though?

Yes, it does protect the paint and clear coat--it just won't prevent the scratch from trees and bushes.
