I tried searching, but came up with nothing.

I have a 2017 1500 Sport with power folding mirrors from the factory. It seems that the passenger mirror doesn't always want to fold in. It's sticking/catching somehow. If I get out of the truck and wiggle the mirror a little, the mirror will fold in/out just fine. It will continue to work fine for a couple days, but if I go a week or so without using the folding option, it will stick again. It's January in Minnesota, so it could have gotten water in it and froze over, but it did the same thing in August when it was well above freezing.

Any ideas what's going on? I don't think it's the control module as I can see the mirror 'try' to fold in and give up.

Same thing with mine. Odd it's just passenger side for me as well. Be interested if there is a fix.

I just had this happen on my passenger side mirror too. It came in about 1/2" maybe. I opened them out again, then closed them and it worked fine.

Mine does that too. ****** me off then I got to get out of truck to push it in place. seems to work fine 95 percent of time ,but then it happens. I had a thought that maybe it was pushed or moved when I was not in the truck, and then when I go to use it its stuck. and I get pissed off again Lol

Maybe try to add some oil somewhere inside in the mechanism?

That's my thought. Spray some WD-40 (or some REAL lubricant), into the unit... but I don't know enough about it to know where to start spraying.

If it's something that's covered under warranty, I'll have the dealer look at it. If not, I'll take some time and figure it out myself (or just deal with it).

Mine has frozen closed on a couple cold mornings and I had to bump it to free it. I want to spray a little silicone in the joint because its cleaner. WD is pretty thin- maybe one of the specialty WD would work better.

I’m new to the forum and not an expert but my mirrors on my 2500 don’t stop but it goes slower on one side. I came across a post on here that suggested an aftermarket company who makes a replacement metal gear for the plastic one that commonly fails. Likely could be the same issue at the heart of it. Just a thought.

Mine does it as well, and I thought it was just my truck.

I usually wait until the closing sequence is done, then hit the button, and close again. Never had to manually give it a push.

The motors in the fold mechanism have small plastic gears. I imagine a couple of teeth have sheared off, causing the inability to fold. Never try to fold the mirrors when covered in snow or ice.
