Holding HVAC temperature control "up" + "down" AND the defrost button for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the dealer menu...

As far as I know, your compass heading will never work on the radio itself outside of whatever CarPlay and Android Auto shows. It's good to know that it shows in your EVIC. So your truck is a 2014 that came with the 7" cluster right?

no. I had the 3.5 evic and upgraded it to the 7" evic. I couldn't find a 2014 7" evic at the time, but got a 2016 instead. maybe the year has something to do with it. the my tire pressure shows correctly also, something to consider when upgrading to a different model year evic.

I was an early adopter. I thought I had a 2014 EVIC but it's from a 2013. Everything works except for the compass heading and only when the UAS is installed.

The only thing I've found with someone else that had this issue was a long time ago with an RA4 from user @cptwing but I'm not sure if he's on the forums anymore.

.....

* 14-18 ram 1500's have a variable displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 7 speed fan)
>> 14-17's w/RAx = 68268186Ax HVAC module
>> 18/19's w/UAx = 68366552AA HVAC module (you'd get this one)

* 13-18 ram 2500/3500's (& 13 Ram1500) have a fixed displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 4 speed fan)
>> 14-17's w/RAx = 68105017Ax HVAC module (ie RA4 Radio)
>> 18/19's w/UAx = 68366553AA HVAC module (ie UAQ Radio)

& the current thinking is to match the HVAC module to the 8.4 radio year, but there are HVAC Blend/Temperature issues with the UAx radio upgrade that are typically fixed with the ATC Mod.

M² Mods.

See this statement always confuses me I have a 2015 PW with MTC (& RA4) and a 7 Speed fan so which HVAC Module? ahh heck might as well just do the dual zone box upgrade

Really? If your radio does not have built in Nav then yes that is probably the case if you do have the NAV radio then of course the compass heading always shows on the NAV button. For those wondering the built in Nav on the radio in my opinion is WAY better then any phone map and well worth the extra price especially when you get the XM travel link service (which I really like and so great if you travel out of your area) for free with it for 5 years which is more than price difference between the QAS UAQ anyway.

We are talking UAS radios.

Maybe Alpha OBD could activate it in cases where it's missing.
Tried everything. It seems to be set up correctly and works with any other radio installed. Just not this UAS.

Ok guys, I first have to say that this thread is instrumentally helpful. That being said, after 192 pages of reading my head completely is swimming. I am looking to upgrade to that sweet, sweet Android Auto life. I am fairly confused as to what adapters and parts I will need to make this 100% functional. I want it to be completely stock if possible, so no cutting or gaps. I realize Sirius Guardian will rarely enable UConnect, but I am hoping this is the only functionality that I lose. I also want to mention that it is a Canadian import (came with a free jar of maple syrup) as I have read that plays some importance.

I have a 2017 RAM Rebel with:
  • RA3 8.4-Inch
  • Dual zone climate control
  • SXM
  • Backup Camera
I know that I will need:
  • RADIO: 68331631AH (UAQ) or 68331635AH (UAS)
  • MEDIA HUB: 68328704AC (RAM) or 5XG28DX9AC (Compass)
  • MEDIA HUB CONVERSION HARNESS
Where can I get the Conversion Harness?
Can I put a US UAQ in my Canadian import without issues?
Has anybody found an insert for the 2018 RAM Media Hub? If not, how about the entire armrest? Mine has red stitching.
Am I missing any other parts?

Your part list is correct since you already have dual zone ATC.

You can get the hub adapter harness from me or DeereGuy. (When in stock/or get on the build list).

Canadian version UCQ /UCS from a Ram will likely work fine as well as USA versions ... Biggest issue is where to get SW updates (USA version is in my fw info thread along with some possible Canadian PNs).
INFO - 2013-2017 8.4AN FW Notes (RA4/VP4 NA).

The only way to get the insert for the console lid is to order the entire 2018 Lid which comes with the correct USB hub & wiring (no hub adapter harness needed) ... But you will need to remove the backlight pin from the new 2018 lid's connector or it will drain the battery on a 13-17 truck.

See post 5 for 18 lid PNs and details about the pin.
** The 2018 Rebel red stitch lid is the cheapest (~ $320) & saves about $160 when you consider the cost of a new hub and adapter harness.

I have a UAS and the compass worked briefly yesterday. I can make it shown up for a split second when switching between the radio and Android Auto. I wish the clock stayed at the top when using AA because it's too small and poorly placed IMO. d8324406b2f1022168790dab9602e6ae.jpg

I think you have the wrong P/N listed for the Rebel Red/Black console. It should be 6RD67LR5AF. I think the one you have listed is for the new DT rams.

Very interesting!? Does it work in you EVIC too?

I agree on the time. That's why I have it displayed in the EVIC too. I think they did that because they can't control what displays in the AA app so they just turn it off when AA is selected.

I've always had it displayed in my EVIC and that hasn't changed. I don't have the clock there but I'm strongly considering adding it because I struggle to see it in AA.

Quick question to all. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the radio to prompt for the anti theft code again without plugging it into a different truck?

Why? If you leave it unplugged long enough it will ask again. I don't hope long that is, likely days.

No, you can leave it unplugged for months and it doesn't ask. Even if it did, that's not the troubleshooting timeframe I'd want to set...

Mpgrimm2, you are the man. Nuances I wasn't aware of like draining my battery is why I asked. Thank you.

I think you have the wrong P/N listed for the Rebel Red/Black console. It should be 6RD67LR5AF. I think the one you have listed is for the new DT rams.

I think you are right. I called a Mopar Parts store and they confirmed the 6RD67LR5AF is for a 2018 Ram Rebel Red/Black stitching, and in fact all 2018 RAM parts started with "6RD". 5YE031XRAG appears to be for the 2020 Ram DT.

UCQ (68331631AK) and armrest (6RD67LR5AF) are ordered. I will confirm part fitment and functionality after completed installation.

I haven't seen a full reset method that would prompt for a code without moving it to another truck
