Other than Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to stealth-install it up under the dash, outta sight and outta mind, what does that do that PC doesn’t do?

The PC has a little more fine tuning ability IMO having driven with both. The ebay 9-drive is basically +15%, +35%, +50% boost of input. The diablosport i3 tuner can do +/- 20% as well but I don't use it.

You know, I kinda figured maybe a little bit of that might be due to possibly a little more fine-tuning ability with the PC but you conjured up a point that I’ve been kinda curious about for quite some time but, what exactly is the difference between say, Sport +4 and Sport+ -4, or like, Eco +4 and City -4?? Wouldn’t those settings (focusing on the Eco +4 vs City -4 for a less-confusing example) be virtually the same? I guess I just don’t see the responsiveness being different.

Check out the hike-it x9. They are 199.00 but probably a discount code floating out there somewhere. I have one on my truck and one on wife’s wrangler. Haven’t had an issue with either so far. While they do not provide any extra horsepower it’s a completely different feel for the acceleration. I recommend one no matter the brand.

Yes, I do have keyless entry. I have a Limited so, there really isn’t a whole lot of bells and whistles my truck doesn’t have but after looking at the instructions, I think what you’re talking about when you brought up the key fob being too close, is for the potential of throwing a code during installation, not while using it because from what I gathered, you need to make sure the pcm is completely off before you disconnect the wiring harness from the throttle pedal because if you have the passive entry- not necessarily the key less entry, just having the fob within range of the vehicle will activate the computer in the truck, making it more likely to throw a code when you unplug the pedal even though you have the ignition off.

I run the Pedal Commander and it works flawlessly. I have gotten a CEL just one time trying out the ECO mode, but I did set it while idling still. I don't use ECO mode too often and have had no other codes otherwise. I don't know anyone else with the PM device either, so I cannot speak to that one. I thought the Bluetooth connectivity was a little silly at first, but it is indeed pretty cool :)

They can and they have, if you try to change setting while driving, or even a few times if you’re just sitting still, in park, idling with no throttle input whatsoever, or if you try to change to the eco mode setting which is actually a lot less responsive than stock, been there, done that.

As I said, that’s why my code scanner/reader gets carried with me all the time in case I do make a change and it trips the CEL.

I had a PC on my 2017 Rebel for 2 years, and it never once threw a code. I changed it while driving when I first got it, until I settled on the setting I liked. Then I rarely ever touched it again. But nearly every time I ever adjusted it, it was while driving. One thing to note though, I never had my foot on the gas pedal while making the adjustments. Not sure why yours threw codes, but I don't think it's normal for it to do that. The thing is made to be able to adjust it while you are driving.

Well, I’m not gonna lie to you, but I think there might of been at least a couple of times of where I was able to take my foot off the gas and change the setting while I was actually driving but that was only few and far between. In other words, there never really has been specifically a pattern as to why mine has tripped a check engine light because to be honest with you, there’s been times where it’s done it and there’s times where under the same exact scenario as that where it hadn’t redone it.

It’s even once or twice flipped my check engine light even while sitting in the driveway, idling in park and no throttle input but most of the time that’s the safest time I change setting without having to clear a code.

But show me where it says you supposedly are able to change this thing as you drive? The very first time mine turned on my check engine light was when I was driving down the highway but I can’t remember if I either had my foot on the gas or not but just because it tripped my check engine light, I decided to email pedal commander’s tech-support and I’m almost pretty certain that they told me not to change it while I’m driving down the road, that I need to change it while I’m sitting parked, engine running and no throttle input.

***Update***- on a hunch, I decided to call up Pedal Commander and ask them about it since my email conversation with them last time was only about asking if my pedal commander was supposed to throw a check engine light code while using the eco-mode. Well anyway, pedal commander technical support told me that it shouldn’t throw a code even when I’m sitting parked and idling. She did not say however about changing it while you’re going down the road, but she did say that it shouldn’t trip a code when parked and idling so, since I’ve only had the unit for less than two years, she’s going to go ahead and set up a warranty claim on it just to see what’s going on with mine.

And it might be it has the problem and it's not you're truck. Best of luck. I bet the new one will be a upgraded one also.

May be, I guess we’ll see.

And to just think, this was one of the reasons why I considered a few times of getting rid of it.

Glad to hear they're willing to work with you on getting a replacement to you. Hopefully you won't see any more codes with your new one.

But show me where it says you supposedly are able to change this thing as you drive?

That's kind of like asking someone to prove they didn't do something LOL. I have never read anything that said not to change settings while driving. The only warning I remember reading just said to keep your foot off the gas pedal and don't use cruise control while changing settings. I no longer have the manual for my PC, but I just pulled this from their website...

"We recommend changing the modes of the PC unit ( Eco, City, Sport, or Sport+) while your foot is off the accelerator or while cruise control is disengaged. By doing this, it will prevent any CEL or EPC lights coming on and putting your vehicle into limp mode. Each of our modes has different signal strengths so we say to do this as a preventative measure."

I don’t know if they’re going to get me a new one or not but I do know that once they receive my old one, they’re going to do a diagnostic test on it to see what’s wrong with it and I guess they’ll either fix the one I have or they’ll send me a brand new unit, we will see.

Well where did you find that at? I can’t remember, but I don’t think they actually sent me an instruction booklet because the inside of the box that my Pedal Commander came in, is my instruction booklet. Underneath the top flap is where it tells me how to hook it up, and down below all the packing material on the bottom of the box is where it just explains the different modes and defines all the buttons. It didn’t say nothing about what you should be doing on it when you change to a new mode.

All I know about the part about making sure you’re idling and in park with foot off the gas pedal is what one of the representatives told me while back when I was having check engine light problems from trying to use the eco-mode and that was how he recommended to change it but other than that, I don’t see on this box at all where it says you can change the setting while driving.

I found it on the FAQ page, under the question "can I shift through the modes while I'm driving/accelerating?" (it's the last question on the page). Here's the link if you're interested...

Hmm, I’ll be darn. I had no idea. Well, maybe my new one or my fixed old one will allow me to do that.
