What did you guys do to center your steering wheel after the install?

How do you make that adjustment with the revised drag link?

Thanks

^The picture above is for the synergy drag link. The OEM replacement has a clamp style like seen in this picture on this track bar. You loosen the 2 clamps, turn the adjusted in the middle and then tighten the clamps.

Mine looks nothing like that and its a Mopar part not a synergy.I haven't seen anyone install that style adjustment you posted, unless it's a new revised part and part#. I ordered mine from Moparparts giant part #68338342AB and from what I've seen this is the style you receive if you order that part # 97963a2f1a56adbc67cea01148f85361.jpgedd33c5eb6a20db49bef077eff082c76.jpg

Hum, could have sworn someone posted the new drag link and it had the adjuster like I posted? I may be wrong then.

They very well may have made another revision, that I'm not aware of but as far as I knew the style I received was the updated version in the 2019+ trucks

Ok guys if the new parts are now available I wonder when dealers will begin installing them for the recall? I have not had the weld done with the recall and I've had zero problems with the nuts loosening and the steering is straight and tight.
Until they start doing the recall with new parts I'll keep my truck as it is.

Don't hold your breath. Do it yourself and file for reimbursement.

At this point Never. They are holding firm that the weld "is" the permanent fix, period.

The only hope of a replacement is if the newly opened re-investigation by the NTSB tells them the weld is not acceptable.

Was at my "Dealership" yesterday and they are still welding, they don't like it either but FCA sets the rules,,
(footnote) this is one of the Good Dealers,,

Yes. Exactly what my local dealer told me as well. The service department and manager there is excellent. It's truly ashame and sad we have to be put though all this when the revised drag link is probably a $50 part, FCAs cost and would make thousands of happy, likely repeat customers.

I wonder if they have considered all of those aspects.

my truck is still running straight and smooth and I was going to leave my recalled parts as is, unwelded and keep checking them.

But for $135 shipped with 2 new nuts, why the hell not. I plan to keep my truck for a while and it is our travel trailer vehicle so... Just ordered mine.

I'll assume that I can just use my Tenhulzen home wheel alignment kit I use on my old dodge D100s for after wards.

Go for it,, it's a simple and straight forward replacement and re-centering the steering wheel is a snap. (you would need to get real lucky to have it perfect after replacement). Just loosen the clamping bolt (with the engine running) and turn the adjusting sleeve nut by hand until the steering wheel is centered, road test and maybe fine tune it. 1/8 turn makes a big difference.

No need to do an alignment just swapping the drag link, just use the adjuster on the drag link to center your steering wheel and you are done.

Is the consensus, they will reimburse for the OEM part but not aftermarket?

Luck of the draw. There is no rhyme or reason as to who the approve or deny. I see more denials then approvals so proceed knowing that the chances of getting reimbursed are low.

Glad I ran across this thread. I bought a 2014 2500 at auction last week wrecked. The drag link was snapped off at the centerlink. I've been looking for replacements and a new old style is ~$300. I'll order one of these for the 2019+ tonight.

On another topic...if anyone happens to have a driver side front trailing arm for a 4wd let me know. PO put the truck in a ditch and bent it. I don't have enough posts to post in the wanted section yet.
