May be the odd man out.... but I love Tapatalk.

Clean and easy to follow on the screen....no ads, no flashy colors, no click bait.... just the threads and posts.

Its clean and simple...I like clean and simple.

hmm there is nothing in ANY forum that I go to that can't wait until I get on a computer. Even with the Samsung 10" tablet, stuff is too small

Just to elaborate on my answer (which I should have done before :) ):

Back in 2008, I think it was, when I got my first smartphone....XDA forums were all the rage for rooting, flashing custom ROMs, etc. The best way to access XDA was via Tapatalk. The website is OK, but Tapatalk was more popular for one reason or another.

So, Ive been using the Tapatalk app since 2008. The app itself has had some changes that caused issues, or things I didnt necessarily like, but regardless it is my #1 way to get to forums like RAM Forum, XDA (still, all these years later!), and a few other ones that I hit daily.

If Im mobile, I fire up the XDA app and cruise through the forums. Very very very rarely will I use a mobile browser to do so...the formatting never seems good, I hate having to login, etc.

I personally would hate to see Tapatalk disappear as a way to access RamForum.

Every single post and DIY I've done here was on my smartphone and Tapatalk less the few times i struggled to use the mobile app which was cumbersome to say the least ...imo Tapatalk is much much better and well thought out ....very fast and streamlined .
Would i leave the forum ? Not sure but i do know i would not be very active .

There is absolutely no security risk with Tapatalk, I have it on my own website and I none of my info or my members info has even been used for other things ....

Leave it as an option for those who do use it ...I mean I actually use TT more when i come visit here and I post just as much from my laptop and not the mobile app ... If I want to post here I either use my laptop or TT ... but it is your website my friend ...

I have been doing web and graphic design for years now and I promise you there is no security risk in TT ...

You do know they take your site and add it to their Tapatalk url. So your site is just shown on Tapatalk.com and several users just via your site through Tapatalk.com/yoursite.

I don't use TT. What is the mobile version everyone is talking about? I did a search on my app store using Ram forum and got nothing.

Mobile version just means using your mobile browser. Chrome, Safari what ever is on your phone.

I love Tapatalk ever since it came out. With the technology of smartphones, to me, the ones who hate it or disapprove of it are the ones who probably do most of their posting from a computer. I do 95% of mine from my iPhone because it’s sooo much easier and sooo much more convenient. Being able to proofread my text before I post, is so much easier on Tapatalk. Being able to quote people and respond to individual parts of their post is also easier in my opinion on Tapatalk. It’s also easier to add pictures to my posts with Tapatalk as well. I also like being able to go to one place and access every forum that I’m a member of. As of right now, ram forum is one of seven other web forms that I go to daily that are all on Tapatalk. I also have a couple forums that I no longer frequent much anymore because years ago, they’ve removed themselves from Tapatalk for some silly reason.

I don’t care how good the website version may be for a mobile device, in my humble little ole opinion, I don’t think it’ll ever be as good as the interface on Tapatalk but, that’s just me I suppose. And for all of those that have said they don’t like it or don’t care for it, or could care less if it was removed; well, that certainly is your opinion but if you don’t use Tapatalk and just use the website version why would you wish Tapatalk got taken off if you don’t use it? I don’t understand that part. To me, that’s about like the story about the people versus Larry Flynt, where they didn’t like his magazine so they didn’t think nobody should… LOL.

I am in no way shape or form whatsoever threatening to anybody or am I even expecting anybody to really truly care but if Tapatalk was removed from ram forums, you’ll probably see a whole lot less of me because I’ve been using this thing for so long that as far as I’m concerned, there’s just no other way to do it. That’s why those other forums that have gone to just the website version of their site, is why I don’t go back there because it still too much of a pain in the ass. There’s far too many extra steps to go through to get to private messaging, or to get to unread posts or just to do anything on there.

Because I can't simply "not use it" it forces ANNOYING tapatalk popups every time you try and use a mobile browser. So it is intrusive to those of us that don't use it or like it. I can't simply ignore it, it's constantly in my face.

How would you feel about tapatalk if every time you launched it a window popped up asking if you want to switch to a browser? And then the "x" button to close the popup is so small it's impossible to click and it launches the app store every time. I stopped using the mobile browser because I got sick of the clickbait tapatalk popup.

Just as a experiment, on Chrome, I turned on "block pop ups" and went to the ram forum mobile site. No pop up for Tapatalk. Previously when I tried the site I would get the pop ups.

Your point of the pop up ad being annoying is just as valid as those who find Tapatalk more convenient.

Here ya go. Try this.

I did it to mine, closed out safari and went back to the web version of ram forums and I no longer got that pop-up telling me about Tapatalk.

I’m not sure what else that turns off, you might want to do a little bit of further research but at least for now, you can keep using the Safari mobile website version of the site and at least not be hounded by that Tapatalk app recommendation anymore.

So where is the security risk? lol

The only reason I see for you wanting to get rid of TT is to get members to use the website more to post and increasing the chance of clicking on popups even more or your adds from google.

I mean your site is monetized just like mine is but I don't low key have the adds everywhere and increase the chances of people clicking on them lol ..

Actually I don't have any adds from google on my site, I actually removed them all because it caused too much latency and took the site forever to load up regardless of what I did ....

Only valid reason to remove tapatalk is to help your site with more impressions and that is just my honest opinion and not a fact ... so I hope I don't insult you ...

Funny thing about popups and such... I don't get those when I use the Brave mobile browser (available on Android and iOS.)

I did try the Tapatalk thingy awhile back, but that was back when I had the old LG G3 phone... never tried it on the new Moto z4 I have now.

So what’s the verdict? Or has one been reached yet?

But I’m curious- what do you mean you can’t control what they put on the site, or whatever? What exactly are they doing that’s making you wanna get rid of this app?

Is there anyway to let y’all mobile lovers use the website and be happy while us tapatalkers fire away from here?
