Dirt King came up with a similar setup now. It’s not in their website yet but I saw the new setup a few weeks ago at the Pomona off-road show and snapped couple of pics. They had 2 4th gen RAM 1500’s, one had King COs front and rear and the other had Fox.
sweet setup bro.

Yes I actually talk to Juan (the owner of the truck) every once in a while on social media. Awesome truck and yes pretty similar bedcages. I had mine finished a couple months before they came out with theirs. I am sure their price tag is a little more steep than what I paid as well haha.

I love the dirt king front bumper. I did not have any tow hooks before so it was just as simple as take the stock one off and bolt dk's up. I think its like 8 bolts total. Super simple to do and comes with new hardware.

Oh alright awesome, good to know. Thank you! I have factory tow hooks right now so sounds like besides those and the bumper that’s all it’ll take.

lol we try. Midwest has their fun too.
For sure! Ever since you kicked off this build I've been envious. I was at Rausch Creek when they did a Raptor Take Over event, and since seeing it in person I've always contemplated building something like what you have. Raptors are cool, but your rig is gonna break lots of hearts when it's done!

I went down a rabbit hole the past few days on YouTube and IG. Not really impressed by raptor performance off road, but boy do they a beating my god.

I had a couple buddies with raptors head down there this past year as well. It looks like an awesome event for sure. Not only are they expensive as hell but the biggest thing is time. Yes I have a ton of money into the truck but it doesn't even compare to the time. You have to love it that is for sure! Also it is kinda sad how little you can find on ram runners on IG and youtube. I wish dirt king would put out some more videos of their ram runner so people can truly see what it is about. Raptors are fun and all but any rich kid can go buy one and call it a prerunner lol.

Yea, I always follow raptor pages just because they have pretty good content. I've had Dodge/RAM pretty much most of my adult driving history and social media since it all came out. Being 32 I was there for the beginnings of IG and FB. My 2500 was a mid travel thuren build, we had 1 forum/media page (dtx). I've been high and low on Insta and when I added you and a few other Rams on IG was the first time I've come across Battle Rams page or any real Ramrunner content. I didn't even realize the Dirt King Kit is what was on that prototype Rebel! I mean c'mon! It's a shame, our trucks are mostly represented by 20" wheels, shiny paint and big bro lifts. I am always soap boxing to my buddies about our trucks, they will argue with me about capabilities until I take them for a rip, and my truck isn't even all that setup. I've built alot of trucks, and run alot of platforms, this by far has some of the best OEM performance to build off I've seen in a non speciality truck.

The time is what makes this a passion. I know all about time. I spent 2 months ,every day, to rebuild my Jeep Project I just got on the road. Full Body and drivetrain resto and swap. My buddies all build tube buggy mega trucks. It's all time and sweat equity, not to mention hard earned cash. That's kinda why I don't care for Raptors, it's simply a bolt on rig. Still cool and capable, but it's bought. Kinda like a jeep wrangler. Everyone has one. It's overdone. I mean, for a DD id rip one, but for a build, nah. Plus think about it, the real serious guys are doin links and bed cages.....we already have half that equation. I follow terra crew and every showcase runner is 5-10 year long build progressions, this is dedication to progress in this sport. Look at how far your truck has already come. One day I'll make it out to the real dunes.

Could not agree more. Those full blown prerunner builds that take 5-10 years are absolutely insane. I love watching them perform though. I know my truck will never do that and I am absolutely fine with that. For the short amount of time we get to use them in michigan it is not worth it to me to have $100k into a truck but to each their own ofcourse.

Without a doubt. Biggest thing is building with intent to use it. That's why I live vicariously through you guys on here. I'd love to have even your setup, but it serves no point if I can't use it. I'm sure your setup is leaps and bounds above what it was, so as long as you don't go jumping 20 feet in the air you will be good.

I know everyone is always drooling over prerunner builds so here you go. This is my build so far. It has a long way to go but gotta start somewhere and I thought I would show everyone my progress thus far and answer any questions if anyone has any. Right now I just finished the front end suspension using dirt kings lt kit. I am pulling 13.25 inches of travel with this kit right now. I am now onto mounting my front fiberwerx fenders and valence. My dirt king front bumper should arrive in a couple of weeks. My future plans are to put the GOR racing lt kit in the rear end without the bypass shocks for now. Hit me up with any questions or thoughts about the truck! Oh btw it is a 2010 ram 1500 slt and dont mind how dirty it is! How do you think that Dirt king front bumper would look with stock fenders and just bilstein shocks set at 2.8? I don't want it to look goofy and i'm not trying to look like i'm a pre runner I just have a dent in my front bumper and besides stock thats the only front bumper that i've seen that I like.

What matters is how it looks to you but if you don't want to make it look like a pre-runner going with an actual pre-running type bumper, then don't get one cause it'll look like a pre-runner. :)
Whatever shocks you have are going to be more visible with this type of bumpers.Best of all prerunner bumpers are more or less lightweight at least compared to the Ranch styles ones.

I don't mind the pre-runner look at all! I wouldn't mind if it looked like a pre runner. Another advantage of that front bumper is the ground clearance. My concern is that I don't have the lift height for that pre - runner style bumper and it'll just look a little off.

To be honest at the time of those pictures i was on 35's and only like 3 inch lift. So in terms of height it would be pretty similar.

Well dune season got pushed back until may 1st now but the truck should be ready by then (hopefully). Had the front shocks rebuilt, undercoated the whole truck using por-15, installed 37's, installed some new lights in the bed, replaced my broken front axle, painted bed, installed a wilco tiregate, and finally finishing up on a vinyl wrap job. Not a huge fan of the color yet but I am thinking it will grow on me the farther I get.
