I run several other forum sites and I'm not overly interested in Tapatalk. I keep it on one site because it's working but the later versions of vB and XF have pretty decent native mobile support, I can't see the point. If it caused an issue, it would be an easy thing to dismiss. Other than turning it on so I can test my own forum, I don't use it much.
To me that is not the point though flying ... the fact that everyone who uses it and has on these forums for the last few years are used to it and like it. Removing it would just throw them all a curve ball and possibly force them to stop visiting the site.
Look I have ran many forums in the last 15 years, when "WE" which included the owners of the sites and myself as an admin made decisions that removed features that most members liked, the outcome was not good.
There is nothing wrong with this website running tapatalk, there is no security risk by having TT on here and the worst that happens is some people for some reason get tons of adds and popups, something that "I" don't get at all here or on my own website.
VB and XF have mobile versions yes, but they have their flaws and they are many ... Tapatalk runs very smoothly for an app that allows you to interact with any forum that offers it to it's members.
If you spend more time on the desktop or mobile versions of any forum or website you will see a lot of latency and time of loading for those forums. With taptalk you don't have to worry about a page taking too long to load which is proven that turns away potential and even current members of any forum or website.
My website and forums are very quick to load, but when I am in a hurry to post something or browse mine or these forums I use Tapatalk because I don't have to worry about the forums taking too long to load up. You get on the forums you read what you want, reply if you want and it's all smooth sailing.
