So while driving I find I feel every single bump in the road... The suspension feels stiff, but also non-existent.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 single cab, I upgraded all 4 of my shocks to fox performance shocks less than a year ago.

The truck is leveled... I understand that's part of the problem.

What else can I do to improve my ride suspension ..?

-Would putting new leaf springs in help? Mine are likely original, pretty rusty.
-Would changing the body mount bushings help?

The front end also needs to be rebuilt (control arms, balljoints, bushings... after I replace all of that, think I will see much of a difference?).

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I can't help you with the suspension changes, but what air pressure are you running in the tires? Maybe try lowering the pressure a little. That'll smooth things out a bit.

Well rebuilding the suspension will help some but maybe not what you’re feeling. The 04 has the torsion suspension correct?

I'm in the same boat, over 200k miles on OEM rubber. Putting HD shocks in only stiffens everything up. Stiffer shocks with worn suspension and bushings makes for a sloppy ride. I think the route I'll take is softer shocks with upgraded poly bushings from Energy Suspension. Pretty inexpensive to replace all those bushings.

I just recently put Thurens soft ride springs, front and back along with the fox shocks they recommend, control bar, sway arms and tie rod ends. I have airbags that I compress and keep out of the way when they're not needed. 40psi in the front and 30 in the back when empty on Nittos and the ride is pretty impressive!
