New to the Ram trucks coming from GM for many years, but I must say I am kinda pi$$ed that we don't get the app with the ability to lock/unlock doors and start/stop the engine for FREE. Its been free on the trucks and cars I've been driving for some time now. I did pay for onstar for years until they refused to open my truck door one night that I was hurt at work and left my keys in the semi. Since then no onstar for me but had the ability to unlock my door if I accidently locked my keys in the truck.

Hmm.... because things like OnStar and even the Honda connect or whatever it’s called in my girlfriends Civic are premium things that aren’t free and cost extra, this is the first I’ve ever heard of smartphone app-controlled features being free.

You’re probably not gonna like this but, and I’m not gonna necessarily say that it was a stupid thing on their part for whoever those car brands are that you’re talking about that offer what’s normally considered a premium subscription for free, there’s a lot of times manufacturers will do some pretty crazy **** just to have an upper edge over the competition. Just ask Phord for example… LOL. I guess they consider having two extra gears in the transmission has an edge, a 3 inch larger screen than Ram’s 12 inch Uconnect as an edge, and a whole bunch of other ****.

I bet those other brands lost out on a ton of revenue from giving that **** for free when everybody else is charged for it.

The "shift flare" from my 68rfe is driving me nuts! Wish I had the AISIN...

Next time, slip a plastic bag over the filter when you're unscrewing it. Saves a lot of clean up time! :)

Thats a Brilliant idea, I used a very small plastic tote to try and catch as much of the oil as I could but spilled it trying to remove it. The bag idea seems like it would work great. The driveway is going to look like a rainbow the next time it rains after my last oil change LOL

I love my truck, but one thing that I don’t like is that the Laramie comes with those cheap wheels. You would think a truck with that trim would have solid wheels, not that what seems to be chromed plastic covered wheels.

Have you priced replacement ones? I don't think they're "cheap"...

But I, too, would have preferred something without what appears to be chrome plated plastic inserts (I've not actually checked them). Not so much because they may be plastic, I just prefer a more subtle look - plain powder coated brushed aluminum would be my choice.

Oh I’m sure they’re not cheap dollar wise. Anything oem is insanely marked up. Just talking about the cheap quality of the wheel. You see the wheels on the new Laramie or Limited and there is no comparison.

Actually, the funny thing, the non-chrome clad Bighorn wheels were nicer than those. But yeah, the Laramie is higher up in than some but my Limited has some pretty nice wheels.

I agree the idea seems cheap. But I’ve had solid wheels that are chrome plated and they always pit and look like crap after multiple salty winters.

funny enough with just normal car washing, the chrome clads on my Big Horn still look brand new. And I mean crystal clear still. So I don’t mind them seeing as how they’re holding up better than any actual chrome wheel I’ve had in the past. So at least they did it right.
The only thing they could’ve done a little better was make the edge/rim less visible?

either way I’ll take it over wheels that’ll be corroding after a handful of years.

Granted, my old 08 only had 70,000 miles on it when it was sold but it was 10 years old and the chrome clads on it still looked pretty good. I wasn’t necessarily crazy about them either and love that my new ones aren’t like that but those looked good for having plastic wheel covers stuck to them.

I'm tall (6'6") and have to duck my head to get in the truck. I am fine sitting in the seat with head room, just a problem where the roof slopes down by the door.

Power seat can be adjusted a little lower than the manual seat if you don't already have one.
