So I have 57300 miles on my 16 Sport. It has the pronounced cold start tick on the driver's side.

I recently saw a member day they got theirs repaired without cost under the 5/60k powertrain warranty.

Here on Raleigh NC I don't have much faith in honest dealerships. Out of curiosity how has others experience been getting this done without a lot of BS.

You won't know till you try, but you can get down there and see if it is mani bolts, that is the lotto as far as hemi tick goes. If it is lifters, see the thread in my sig. Most of the dealers will fix exhaust bolts, but many call lifter tick "normal". It is hit or miss, but you should try. You can post a youtube, many times the forum can kinda tell which tick it is, they are similar but sometimes we can tell.

Mani bolts is a tricky fix, if you drill too far you are screwed, that is something best done by dealer as they have deep pockets, if that is your issue.

Had a cold weather tick. Heard it, didn’t think much of it, dealer diagnosed while in for OLF.

Mani bolts, dealer fixed, problem solved. Covered by power train warranty.

I heard a bad tick on the passenger side. Dealer charged me a diagnostic fee around $150 to check it out that would be refunded if they found the problem to be something under warranty. Sure enough, broken bolts on both sides, fixed at no charge.

Less than 1000 miles later the tick is back on the driver side. It is a bit shocking to me Dodge could allow this problem to be so pervasive.

Yup, need to determine if its a tick or a leak.

Mine started as tick, but listening closer it was more a pffft pffft pffft sound. Took it to the dealer they did both manifolds on warranty.

They half-assed the fix........cause of broken bolts would be warped manifold......you put new bolts in a warped manifold it will happen again.

Firs time, in for an oil change, Service Writer told me i had broken manifold bolts, that I never noticed
because it was winter and truck warmed up with remote start and drove it with windows up and radio on.

They replaced all exhaust bolts, exhaust manifold bracket on that side.
Next time, I actually heard the tick. Thought it was the other side exhaust.

Took it in, specifically for the tick because I was soon to be out of warranty.
They told me it was a dropped lifter/Chewed Cam shaft.
Replaced about $6000 of parts. According to the parts listing.
Got a list somewhere on this forum.

I paid nothing it was all covered under 5/100K mile warranty that came with my 2014.
They changed the oil , for free, too. Service Writer said when they take it down, that far,
it ain't worth, not changing it.

wow great story and timing, you must be close to out of warranty now. What oil brand and weight did you use prior to it failing??
