Not a Canadian truck but I did set my DRL to the turn signal and they are 100% but I have aftermarket headlight housings.
Thanks, thats what I was hoping to hear. Do you remmeber the settings you used? I'm assuming optional DRL, and set the output location as turn signals, thats it?

That's exactly my settings. My truck was already set to optional DRL the location was set to none. I just made the location to turn signal. I would rather have the parking lights but unfortunately that's not an option.

Have a 2018 3500 Laramie dually. Did a longhorn Laramie cluster swap. Everything works, it remembers everything as it should, but for some reason new cluster isn’t showing tire pressures option screen. Cluster is out of a 17, but in original cluster it was an option. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

By adding DRLs to a 2015 RAM does it give you the option on the radio to turn them on or off of you are just enabling them to be on.
In other words are you enabling the option to have them or enabling the lights.
I thought I saw it as an option on the radio to turn them on or off.

The option in the radio gives you the option whether they will turn on/off when the truck is in gear and the parking brake isn't set.
Yes it's possible to add the option in the radio as I did with mine.

So you're DRLs can be turned on or off through the radio? I never did this because I don't like the idea of not being able to go dark, but if it is a toggle I'll probably wire up my lights (AlphaRex)

That is correct, through the radio I can toggle whether my DRLs turn On/Off when in gear.
I haven't tried it but I'm not sure whether it turns the DRLs off when I remote start.

Does anyone know if alphaobd is capable of synchronizing a new replacement ABS module with the ECU ?

As you know it is from a 2017 that only happened with the ram of 2013 and 2014 I had never seen a cluster 2017 not read the tpms in a 2018

I do not have the ability to turn on or off my DRL's in the radio screen so I guess they have not been turned on in the BCM. I'm still on the fence on trying this myself with the app that many of you are using. I will be talking to my local garage later this week as they said they have the tool to access the BCM.

Start with the basic first step you do, I do this before every change:
Then try something simple like:
Then you can try setting up the DRLs the way you want:
Also read the Known Working list in the first post of this thread. I will note that you do not want to enable DRL dropout if your using the High or Low beams as the DRLs.
About the only thing better than those videos is if RamForum very own @big daddys house came over and did it for you. (He probably charges a celebrity appearance fee) :-D

Following the instructions found in this thread (See the first post for the link to the guide contained in this thread), I was able to add another FOBIK to the truck.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WLCRYQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works like a charm! I had the friendly local ACE hardware guy cut the key. It doesn't have a RAM logo on it and the release for the key is a bit more difficult to use to release the key as it doesn't stand quite as proud as the OEM fobik but I can live with that for $20.

I obtained the truck's PIN using the Pin Pull app from the Google Store. I had to buy 35 tokens to get the 50 tokens needed to pull the PIN using the app. That was about $16 I think. The app itself is free.

Naturally I used the full version of AlfaOBD to add the FOBIK.

I am running the apps from my fairly trusty ACER ChromeBook.

I am using a BAFX OBDII Bluetooth tool to interface with the truck.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The BAFX is what I had on hand as that's what I've been using to work on the other vehicles in the garage.

It appears to work with AlfaOBD just fine. I have been able to check and clear fault codes on the BCM. I have been able to read the BCM config and upload it. I ran a simple diagnostic on reverse lights and got them to illuminate. And as mentioned above, I was able to add another Fobik using this combo.

I am using OBDLink Bluetooth option in the preferences with the BAFX.

Wanted to share my experience with a Cummins VGT turbo calibration with you guys.

Helped a buddy replace the variable guide vane turbo actuator yesterday on his 2015 2500 cummins.

It took me over an hour messing with alfa to get it the calibration to work.

Every time I went to start the procedure it would give me a failed, sequence error and not calibrate the new actuator. I tried it with the key in ACC mode and run and I tried to connect to the Cummins via my 2014-2017 and through 6.7 Cummins in the engine options.

Finally, the only way it worked was to disconnect both batteries for a few minutes, go directly into the 6.7 Cummins engine connection option and start the procedure. So I guess there might be an alfa issue doing this procedure. I tried an older version of the app then updated the app and both were the same. After reading on various forums I also tried to up the interface timeout to 1000ms in alfa.

So if you need to do this procedure and it is giving you an error. Go to the alfa main page and go to the settings gear in the middle top of the page. Then scroll down to interface timeout and increase it to the max number 1000ms. Disconnect both batteries for a few minutes, reconnect them and then try the procedure again.

I’m trying to add fog lights to my 2017 2500 Tradesman. I have a new bumper w/fogs I haven’t installed yet. I’m looking for a fog light harness and found this jumper 68046303ac. The connector from that jumper doesn’t fit the connector that is on my truck(picture below). The factory connector is located on the driver side bumper below fog light mount. Anyone know what connector/harness/part # I need? Also, does the fog light harness even connect there?

This may have been addressed but couldn’t find it. Has anyone tried to adjust / remove the speed limit governor on the 1500’s with Alpha? I received this response when I emailed Alpha.

Try the "VehConfig 5 - Speed Limiter Present" and " VehConfig 1 - Maximum Vehicle Speed (0 - 500km/h)".

It's been a little while since I posted, but here is a quick update on what I have done to my truck.

I added my RA4 radio (big upgrade from the RA1) and a huge thanks to @Mpgrimm2 for the harness and helping me deal with shipping issues. This coupled with a new rearview mirror (with mic) and the steering wheel controls installed I now have a greats hands-free set up.

Using Alfa I activated windows global down, compass on the EVIC, Mossy Oak splash screen, and the factory alarm (VTA) without and problems.

Now on to the same problem I have been having since day 1 of the upgrade process. After a few successes, I decided to try and add the premium cluster again and work on the mileage. The first standard attempt got me the same result. This was my first attempt since putting in the Nav unit so I activated turn-by-turn and that works well. That confirmed that the EVIC is receiving information from different parts of the truck, and I attempted to change it again.....still no luck.

Slowly picking away at updating this truck, but I can't figure out the odometer (engine hours and idle hours change no problem).

Hello everyone,
i've been watching videos fromKustomblack motor sports and big Daddy's house, on how to program rear view camera to your truck using the alphaOBD, on the video from kustomblack motorsports he shows how to do the OEM camera and I was wondering if for the aftermarket is the same way, or is it different?

Thanks,

My experience is turn one click over on the key instead of two and try that.
