I’ve been looking for new headlights for my truck.

I have an ‘02 1500 with aftermarket Spyder headlights that the previous owner installed on it. However, they’re a few years old and some of the bulbs are starting to go out, not to mention the protective coating’s worn off and there’s scratches all over them. Both the hi and low beams have always been horrible on them. I would fix them up but I don’t particularly like the look of them.

What I’ve been thinking of recently is getting OEM reflector headlights and just doing a 6000K HID kit on them. I’ve seen some other Spyder lights that I liked, but I wasn’t too sure about them as I’ve heard the quality isn’t very good. I’ve seen some people talk about putting different bulbs in the Spyder lights but I haven’t done much research on that.

So what are your thoughts? Do you have any recommendations for OEM brands/aftermarket brands and/or bulbs for either?

Aftermarket hands down.
DO NOT BUY FROM ODREO!!!
6000k is blue in color and kinda hard to with. I would recommend probably something like a 5000-5600 color.

I had the aftermarkets a couple of times and got tired of the issues they always have, Moisture, not fitting right, etc. Finally just bought some oems and am happy.

Thanks for the input brother. Where’d you get your OEMs?

I went with smoked reflector style and LEDs. There is no comparison to OEM and they look good. I imagine the non-smoke would be a lot brighter, but I have zero complaints. I got all my bits and pieces through ebay and amazon. Mostly ebay because of pricing, but I always searched amazon for the reviews.
