4th Gen projector headlights, I need at least one, but I'll take extras, of the bolts that hold on the dust cover. Got a used set but I'm missing a bolt. Worried about stripping the hole if I just use a random bolt

You could take bolt to local hardware store and loose fit it in nuts until you find the size and thread. Then pick the bolt that will work once you know specs. Granger is also a place to go, but you will get bulk boots when you need only one.

That was my plan. It isn't a machine screw like an m10x1.5 pitch, it's a hex head real coarse thread going into plastic so I feel like i could strip the hole out easily using a random screw

Ah, well maybe Fastenal might be a stop, they have many unique fasteners and again dry fitting might ensure you don't strip it out. I seem to always have problems with funky fasteners, not sure what I did to keep getting challenged by them but maybe one day I will have served out my sentence. Good luck.

I went to Home Depot and they had exactly what I was after. I assume the screws would be the same for the OEM as the TYC projectors that I have. They initially came with a Philips head (which were rusting) and replaced them all with the hex head. I'm away for work, otherwise I'd get you a pic of the bag, but they were Hillman brand I think.

I have a bunch. You want 8 mm heads or Phillips #2.
