Not for floating screens but I like this kit for in-dash installation of aftermarket radios. If it had been available when I did my UAQ conversion, I probably would have gone this way. The 5.2" touchscreen can also display up to 3 OBD-III gauges and you can get a harness to display up to 5 cameras. It does replace the Maestro which is an additional $190 for the radio the OP mentioned.

Just got mine today. Waiting on the PAC RPK. I was also looking for anyone who has this setup.
Any thoughts on using the pac amp pro to get Toslink out into an Audison Bit One or using some sort of port DACimage.jpg

Looks like the Alpine Halo 9
I thought about the Halo 9 for my 09 for the longest time, but the more videos I watched the more complaints I heard about it being super quirky.

Not knowledgeable enough to contribute to the questions asked, but for others curious to see this unit and with an alternative metra dash kit, I found this video:

Anybody know anything about the new Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX floating display .

I have a 2017 ram 1500 bighorn . Looking to get apple carplay in it . This display states it has wireless apple carplay . Would i be able to keep my current media hub and not change it out ?

No you cannot use your USB hub. Aftermarket HU don't work with USB hubs, you best bet if get a flush mount USB port on amazon and plug it into the USB on the new HU.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the floating screens, but I would hold out for the new Kenwood one, I do really like that one. It's a 10.1" capacitive touch screen. It has a volume knob, which I don't like but alot of people want that.

I didn't realize Kenwood was coming out with this new radio. Just looked it up, looks nice. I like the volume knob, this is one of the reasons I've been thinking of going to an 8.4 with new bezel. This might be a better option.

Keep in mind that for this kit, or the similar metra kit, it’s for swapping out an 8.4 radio. So, if it’s going to be used on a truck equipped with the 5” radio, you would have to go through with the HVAC module and conversion harness just like you would for a 5” to 8.4 conversion.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, I would still have done those things when I upgraded from the 5" radio just used the PAC kit and a Pioneer head unit in place of the 8.4 Uconnect.

Still thinking about selling my UAQ and going this route. Just need to justify the delta between what i can get for the UAQ and the new stuff to see if it is worth the time. I do like my technology but the UAQ works well for the most part. Only thing I would do this for is wireless Carplay but putting the phone into a dock has not annoyed me enough to take on the expense.

Been waiting on this since announced in January. I was going to get the Halo 9 but this has wireless and HD screen and should kill the Halo on paper. Following for reviews as I'll get one later this year.

I just had mine installed last weekend. Aspen Sound and Car toys kept wanting me to buy the 500$ PAC dash kit when Maestro RR works just fine. Now I am working on figuring out how to disable video in motion. I found some info on avic411, but haven't tried it yet.

@satsol67 can you give us a breakdown to all the things purchased for this install. Crutchfield isn't much help as they're site indicates this won't work in a 16 RAM. I want to make sure I order all the pieces required to retain factory wheel controls, nav antenna, and xm antenna.

Additionally, does the temperature settings show up somewhere onscreen for the dual zone or is that lost now with the Maestro? With the PAC you would have those indicators on the LED below.

Tx in advance-

I’m really glad I found this post because I have a 2018 Ram Tradesman with the basic RA1 radio with manual AC controls. Since the floating display is technically a single Din setup, I could get around using the Metra 99-6518B for the setup?

I recently updated my 2016 8.4 to the DWT-7600NEX too. Here are some pics. Works great. Sound is much improved. Retained all the factory functions. Now get wireless AA and can turn on netflix, etc. for the family on long rides using a chromecast plugged into the hdmi port.

Detailed list of items required for installation.

DWT-7600NEX
MAESTRO RR OR RR2
HRN-RR-CH3 T-HARNESS
NAV2 HARNESS ( TO USE FACTORY NAV ANTENNA )
SAT1 HARNESS ( TO USE FACTORY XM ANTENNA )
XM SXV300V1 TUNER
EURO ANTENNA ADAPTER OEM F TO MOTOROLA M ( FOR HD RADIO )
SCOSCHE CR1297DDB DASH KIT
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL UPT900 DIN POCKET

The only grumble I have about the install is the scosche dash kit. I wanted to retain the factory buttons for the HVAC. The screen still shows the HVAC stuff as well so you can use either BUT there are two things to note.

#1 - The dash kit indicates it's for single or double din installs and was to include a single din pocket to fill the void when installing a single din unit such as this. It does not come with it. Had to do the install and then pull everything back out days later after I received part #American International UPT900 ( din pocket ). Now everything looks great. Even have a hidden cubby behind the screen for small items I don't care to have seen, w/e that may end up being...

#2 - You have to disassemble the hvac controls including removing the knobs. Kinda a PITA but with a little patience it can be done. 1st one coming off was the hardest.
